Never even thought of a cig. being used as a weapon. Thanks for providing an example, katydid.

I'm not arguing that some cops are over the top or bullies ; just that I've been lucky enough in my life to have never encountered a LEO that's like that.
It's like one bad cop makes them all look bad, and it's sad people think that way, but that's life.

Not sure what to think about this case. What if S. B. had just put out her cigarette ? Would she have walked away with just a warning ?

Off-topic ; but this is why I feel some cops are on edge and over react. (NOT excusing bad behavior, though) :

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3171106/Police-sergeant-shot-killed-California-traffic-stop.html
Scott Lunger, a San Francisco Bay Area police sergeant, was shot dead early Wednesday
He was killed by the driver of a white pickup that he stopped after he was driving erratically

:( RIP, Ofcr. Lunger , my condolences to his loved ones !

:moo:

I just started following this today but did watch the entire dashcam video of the stop and what happened before the stop.
I don't think he was angry about the cigarette, but wanted her to put it out because he knew he was going to arrest her at that point.
Right before asking her to put out her cig. he asked her what was wrong and that she seemed upset.
She said she was upset because he had sped up and was tailgating her, so she pulled over/changed lanes to get out of his way and now she was getting a ticket.
He said are you done and asked her to put out her smoke.
What set him off was her saying he had sped up and tailgated her.
After watching the video I think she was correct about his speeding up in order to catch up with her after he made a u-turn to follow her after she came out of the intersection.
Can't tell as far as tailgating (could be her perception due to rear view mirror) but he does speed up until he is close behind her.
I suppose it was more exciting for him to create drama than to warn or write a ticket.
As far as the jail death...how does a plastic bag support weight in order to hang oneself? Wouldn't it tear open? IMO

Is there any evidence that it was based on race? I'm sure the hashtag crowd and professional agitators have stated such but I'd rather deal in facts. All the hysteria surrounding each of these cases does nothing but cause division instead of unity in ultimately determining what happened and why. Of course there are those that profit off of racial strife but I discount their opinions.

IMO this LEO was an 🤬🤬🤬 with an attitude and he would likely have treated anyone of any color the same. I am white and I myself have encountered these type. Best thing to do is suck it up and obey and seek a solution after the stop is complete.

The video shows a totally different personality of his with the stop right before her. He is so accommodating, almost groveling.

If they have a dash cam, just try to stay in it's frame

Did you watch the video? He dragged her out of the frame. He was yanking her around by her handcuffs, and she was complaining that he was hurting her wrists.

#SandraBland M.E. shows NO injury to he hands...defensive wounds would likely be present if she was murdered

#SandraBland M.E. states no injuries were found that would have been consistent with a struggle or homicide

Interesting in that she would have marks on her from the roadside issue.

I have heard that marijuana can be in your blood stream months after smoking but not sure if that is true. IMO

All over the non usage of a turn signal to change lanes. I don't know about the rest of you but if LE is behind me and seems to be in a hurry my instinct is to pull over and I might also forget to flip on my indicator light.
He did target her and that seems obvious from the video. He did a u- turn after she came out of the intersection and sped up until he was close behind her.
What his reasons were I have no idea. IMO

Generally marijuana can show up in a drug test for up to 30 days give or take a few. The problem with marijuana testing is that after a few hours, the amount that shows up can be consistent with someone who has smoke hours earlier, or la week earlier. This is why states that have legalized pot are having difficulty with driving under the influence. There is no breathalyzer type test, and by the time police haul you off to jail on suspicion of being under the influence, the test can't accurately reflect whether or not you were high at the time you were pulled over, or its residual from previous ingestion. This happens bc in many instances the testing can happen hours after your arrest.

LOL hope that makes sense. I remember this was a topic discussed at length in the Michael Brown case.

Maybe so but concluding that proves racism is a huge leap.

#SandraBland No evidence that this was a homicide @KRLD @CBSDFW

Austin York ‏@realAustinYork 5m5 minutes ago
#SandraBland had marijuana present in system 3 days after ingesting it. Indicates a large amount must have been smoked @KRLD @CBSDFW

He says some lacerations or abrasions were found on her wrists, injuries consistent with a struggle while being handcuffed.

He also says marks around Bland's neck are consistent. He says that in violent homicide, investigators wouldn't see a consistent mark.

He says the injuries that were found would be consistent with a suicide.

I've been thinking about this and trying so hard to remember what I do when this happens. I think turning on the blinker is so automatic I don't even think about it, which means maybe I wouldn't think to do it if I were upset or scared or anything other than intentionally changing lanes. If a fire truck is behind you do you signal and pull over, or just pull over immediately? It's such a quick reaction I can't say for sure. I know the law says to always signal and I imagine if it were a cop behind me I would be extra super cautious, but I might be freaked out enough to forget.

What happened to her back? Was this from the man kneeling on her?

I don't usually think about a turn signal for a fire truck unless someone is behind me that needs to know to move one way or the other so I can get out of the way.
I think for police it would depend on their speed and how fast they came up behind me as to whether I would move out of the way fast or flip my signal and then move over to another lane.
I get you about being super cautious though so as not to get a ticket.
It seemed to me in this instance he came up on her fairly fast and then slowed down once he was behind her. It could be her perception that he was tailgating but the speeding up to get behind her was in the video. IMO

Looks like some swelling and scuff marks and a pretty serious puncture wound on her back. IMO

You might want to link your pic or it will get deleted. I can't answer your question because every site I tried, online and tv, went to Trump and I haven't seen it addressed by MSM yet.

The family Pastor said today on CNN that her mugshot was actually taken AFTER she died. Her family believes that according to the Pastor and spokesman. Is there a way we can investigate that claim?

Interesting analysis. The mugshot does seem fishy... Can anyone else comment what they think about the background/shoulders/shadows/skin tone etc?

What a horrible, horrible case [emoji17]
