ME,too KEPPRA is to control epilepsy. On insurance question, somewhere among booking docs I just read, it said no insurance (med). If she was not taking meds it could be because she could not afford them,JMO. Anyway, whether her family knew it or not, I believe that she had epilepsy. JMO

The video I am watching and refering to ,he inquired twice. First when he walked to passenger side to get her DL and insur, he asked her Whats wrong. Second time, was when he returned to her car, Drivers side, @840 on video, @846 he asked if she was ok.

I know it's the same video, I just don't seem to get the same things from it as some others do. When he asked if something was wrong from the passenger side, it was after she said she thought she had given him her license. I thought she might have rolled her eyes, cursed or mumbled something about it, but it's just a guess since I can't hear her say anything during that part. As I said, there are other things I see differently, but it's not really worth going into each one. We all look at everything from our own perspectives based on our past experiences and beliefs. Some things are almost universally seen the same way, and some are almost universally seen differently. MOO

My son lost his license until he had been seizure free for 6 months. It's been several years now, but he still has to send in something from his doctor saying he's been seizure free every year. As long as your condition is under control, you're more or less okay here.

And the answer was NO

Why would you think she couldn't afford them? Just curious. 30 tabs of Keppra is $8.09 at WalMart. ONE pack of cigarettes in Tx is $7 and she smoked.

I did not know what the meds cost. I do know that most drugs cost a fortune if you do not have medical insurance. Good to know that Keppra is not one of the expensive ones. JMO

What Ms. Bland did was not an actual stop at the stop sign (ie 3 seconds of full stop).

50y/o light skinned Hispanic who was driving an old primer Nissan. She was also in last stages of completing court ordered classes for possession of meth at the time.

I think you have to have medical documentation to do so.... and like no seizures for a period of time. My niece is epileptic, and I was worried about this when she was young and diagnosed. However, she just obtained her learner's permit and will be testing for her license near her next birthday. She's been controlled by medication for a very long time, and really has no more risk of being a hazard than my son (who could have an asthma attack.)

Respectfully BBM, as to if she had a a prescription for medical marijuana, if she did, she didn't acknowledge it on her list of medications. We do know that she have a few prior convictions for having illegal marijuana. She wasn't arrested for DUI, but from the autopsy we are told she had marijuana in her system. We don't know the amount or any other Tox at this time. JMHO

Not sure about TX, but in my cousin's case, she was hit with DUI since she consented to search and meth was found. DUI was thrown out due to reason for stop was no current tag, paid, but not passed smog, possession charge stuck.

Sure he probably did light her up (pun intended) in order for her to know to pull over. But that was for the turn signal. IMO
If he had put his lights on earlier for a stop sign he would have also turned on his audio because he planned to stop her for the stop sign. IMO
Nothing to indicate from him that he thought she had ran a stop sign.

It was less than a min, from time he got back into his patrol car, made u-turn, sped up and pulled over then you hear radio again before he gets out of his car. I will go out on the limb and say he was radio into dispatch and receiving info on plates prior to his radio coming back on as you call it. I think it was redacted out, but JMHO

I am hungry :cupcake: so I will bite, what do you think was the reason he just turned around, sped up to her car and pulled her over? Honest question. TIA

I cannot say I have a huge lawbreaking past, but over 40 years, I got three speeding tickets. The last time a couple of years ago I just got a warning. He told me I had a ticket 10 years ago. Who knew they kept info so long.

The last time he asked me if I knew why I was pulled over. He gave me a warning because he said I was honest, even though I was upset thinking about paying the fine.

The other time I remember, the LE asked me if I had a reason for speeding. I had one, but so what. It was my reason.

I don't think LE , in my vast experience, doesn't tell you why they are stopping you.

I don't think it is supposed to be a game, is it?

I have never heard of Keppra. Is this common knowledge that someone would have for some reason?

I posted yesterday that I didn't know his reason and I still don't. It seemed obvious to me though that his intent was to catch up to her because as soon as he gets close behind her after he increased his speed to get behind her he slows down to a normal speed.

This could go on all day and into the night.lol Yes I agree. The order to step out out of the car came after he requested she put out her cigarette. He did radio for back up but this was done in between the tussle with her inside her car.
So my post that you quoted to correct me was a post of me saying that IMO he would have radioed for back up before he put his hands on her if his intent to order her out of the car was based on fear of his personal safety.
In conclusion it doesn't appear (IMO) that the reason for ordering her out of the car was due to safety reasons. IMO

I will look back on my comments but I never stated that it was for safety reasons (as in he had fear) She was not complying with his "step of the car" . She told him she didn't have to.

Thank you for this link. The 2nd officer (the female) on scene, you can see in this video where she was parked. I would like to see the dashcam video from her car... it looks like it could have gotten some of the side view. That officer said that she saw when the orig officer was talking with her...

ETA. it very interesting also the text message read between the Family Atty and the DA. They needed another test due to the large amt of marijuana in her system that they didn't do for a person who died in custody (odd to me). I agree with the family being upset on that and questioning it, they should have all they need prior to releasing the body. That is unsettling to me. JMHO
