So he went in with his attorney and changed his story. I wonder if his attorney helped him with that.

Well, if his attorney didn't help him with that statement the attorney didn't earn his pay.

What kind of deal could he got? Usually the deals come for giving location of body. I hope he doesn’t get any deal.

Lesser charges..

One thing I've never understood from the beginning.......................WTH tries to get a child to drink milk at 3 am, much less punish them not drinking it? IMO, that is just whacko right there!!

I think he changes his story, just a little bit.
It will all come out.

I believe he has implicated another person also. The police spokesperson said there may be another arrest. It could only be one other person in my opinion.

Very interesting wording from Richardson PD - not that he confessed to anything, but that he "provided an alternate statement of events from those which he had given previously, regarding the disappearance of Sherin."

Thank you. Well said. She isn’t a suspect nor has she been charged with any crime. That might or might not change.

It actually bothers me that so many people on social media are also blaming mom. I'll definitely admit I'm wrong if that's the case, but I really don't have a problem believing she was asleep. Plenty of dads take an active role in child rearing. I know many of them. In fact, most of my friends with kids do things pretty 50/50. If one parent is up with the child in the middle of the night, the other is asleep unless there's an emergency. Also, considering her situation, I can understand her being stoic in court today. I'm the type to be numb around others when I'm suffering, and breakdown in private.

Injury to a Child in Texas
Section 22.04 of the Texas Penal Code provides that a person commits this offense if, through act or omission of an act, he intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causes a child:

Serious bodily injury;
Serious mental deficiency, impairment, or injury; or
Bodily injury.
What is Serious Bodily Injury?

Bodily injury that creates a substantial risk of death or that causes death, serious permanent disfigurement, or protracted loss or impairment of function bodily member or organ. Tex. Pen. Code §1.07(a)(46).
Additionally, the Code specifically provides that “an owner, operator, or employee” of a facility for the care of a child, elderly or disabled individual also commits an offense if, by omission, causes a child, elderly or disabled individual to suffer injuries as listed above. Tex. Pen. Code §22.04(a-1).

Thanks, and thx for the link! Just got back in and will take a look, at least until my eyes glaze over. (The things you learn researching cases, sometimes... I'm not a natural in the sciences, but specific questions will get me reading up on things I'd never normally be interested in.)

Agree with Inthedetails--it'd be my first guess that LE were looking for something related to the case that may have been purposely dropped down into the sewer (this is a sewer near the culvert where she was found). Possibly even looking for a murder weapon if they're headed that direction, theory-wise. (A knife or other puncture-type weapon?)

While I've heard of kids going down storm sewers over the years, these ones on Spring Valley and Bowser look like they have openings too narrow to allow the head of a child to pass through. JMO, though; I may be mistaken.

Thx, osu...whose Twitter account did this photo come from, please? (TIA)

Since they arrested him after then I think he did walk in and tell LE what happened.

That is just the way some in LE speak while not giving out any details.
