He was found on January 19? That's a long time to wait until making it public.

I honestly believe they had their reasons, due to the investigation.

Dallas is 3 1/2 hour drive from Houston. ETA-Dallas police told Eyewitness News that the vehicle Young was found in was towed on Jan. 10 from a business parking lot on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. On Jan. 19, officials at the impound lot contacted police, where officers made the gruesome discovery.

"Advanced state of decomposition." They may have known it was him but waited for dna comfirmation before announcing it.
I also think that due to the investigation, they were in no hurry to share. Perhaps they didn't want to tip off possible suspects or something.

Perhaps they were waiting on CCTV footage before announcing it. Lets hope that business had camera's.

Unbelievable. A young man went missing, and his car was missing, on Dec 9. On January 10th it was towed and no one connected this car to a missing persons case? Makes you wonder how many impound lots have cars that belong to missing people.

It was another town over 3 hours away. I don't think they could possibly check on every single person with an impounded vehicle. They do usually mail a notice/billing invoice to the vehicle registration address though. The GF moved out a couple of days after he went missing and his mail was probably getting returned.

UPDATE IN MISSING PERSON INVESTIGATION:
The body of a male, positively identified as Mr. Taylour Young, 25, was discovered in the trunk of his vehicle in an impound lot in Dallas, Texas, on Jan. 19.

As per @DallasPD, Young's body was in an advanced state of decomposition. 1/2
On the 19th! Someone from that impound lot posted on the "Find Taylour Young' page on the 24th asking why HPD hadn't responded to the fact that his car had been there for days!

If the body was that badly decomposed, they couldn't be sure it was Taylour until they got positive ID. It would have been possible the body was someone else, and they couldn't rule out that TY might have been the killer. Lots of reasons not to say anything until they were sure.

His Mother just found out her son was murdered and of course she wants justice and those who did it to pay. There are definitely some red flags.

Mockingbird runs right by Southern Methodist University/SMU.
It is in an upscale and high traffic part of Dallas.
Just as the area Taylour was last seen in Houston is also upscale/high traffic.
I wonder what business the car was found at and towed?
What a devastating outcome, and yet it is a small comfort that Taylour was found.
May he rest in peace, and may his cause of death give LE the info needed to answer the questions of his family and friends.
