IMO, that is LE way of saying: WE want to solve this without suggestions, help, theories, video enhancements, photos, etc. from anyone who is not one of our own."

If that is their (LE) desire, then it is starting to sink in with WS members at long last.......I fear this mental takeover........It seems like the
"big brother" attitude is becoming the trend.
My opinion, certainly..............not main stream....

Forgot to link post #780..........sorry

Yes, that's what I meant. Aka, "Go away, kid. Don't bother the grown ups."

I know MPD has their fans here. I wonder how Midlothians feel about this case going cold.

You are precisely correct. I wish I had an internal feed from that "neck"of Texas. Alas, I live a couple thousand miles away and can only use intuition, and not "ears"...........Someone knows more than we are hearing on WS and online.

I know MPD has fans on here. <modsnip>

Is anyone aware of why this discussion has suddenly gone "gone colder than cold"?

Is everyone tripped up on the technical glitches mentioned in past couple of days, or is something brewing? Or, is it just that the case has suddenly gone TOTALLY stone cold?

Well, I figured it was time to spend more time on other cases. Not that anything is happening there either.

I'm hoping that one day soon, things will be going like gangbusters again. It seems it's either feast or famine. But this lull is not a bad thing, I think.

Hang in there!!!

Don't think it's cold...just think they don't need the help of the public. JMO

I agree - it's cold...there's nothing new to discuss that we haven't hashed/rehashed a thousand times already. Although, I hope the thread stays open. I had withdrawal symptoms the last time it closed...lol
I did for a while too. This is frustrating at times.

Yep. I saw you over there in the Delphi thread Jethro. There are several parallels with Missy's case. A suspect was caught on camera but has not been identified. The girls were hiking in a small town wooded park where it should have been as safe as an empty church. And LE isn't giving out much information so the discussion can get frustrating.
It is not that they aren't giving out much information it is just as in this case where LE is sitting on information that should have been out in the first 3 days that would have generated tips - like the Altima - while people could still easily remember if they saw what police were looking for just a few days prior. I am sure they have other things that were they to release them now would equally be useless to most people but the diehards working on this due to the elapsed time.

Was just looking at the MPD surveillance video for like the gazillionth time...lol and just noticed something I hadn't noticed before - I've always wondered if those first few seconds are actually the first part of the video because the killer isn't carrying a hammer and is walking holding on to the wall, but I just noticed - you can't see the POLICE lettering on her back. There is just a fuzzy area there. Do you think it's just due to distance from the camera & lighting or ? This is at .08 from the surveillance video.

LE has given every indication that they would prefer no discussion, no extra eyes on them or their work. Makes me want to let them stew in their own juices.
That's their problem. There is still work to be done. Everyday is a new opportunity.

I think it is there. The lighting and distance are the culprits.

Great observation about the back of the jacket... I had always thought that this was after the altercation, because I thought I had read (early on) that the tools were left behind, but I could be wrong... please chime in!

I hadn't noticed it prior Good eye (Ms PC :blushing: ) But since we know what it says, it is easier to make it out. JMHO since all the video snips were for the local public to see if they recognized the gait and/or mannerisms of the Suspect, they just showed portions from 3 cameras. NE, SW and it is debated where the camera is that Suspect is coming out of room and across hallway busts glass. We have strong thoughts but no confirmation of where that is. And we do not know how far down the main West hallway the Suspect was when first picked up on SW camera video.

JMHO I think it due to the distance and angle of camera , lighting possible too.

I think it happens on all the threads, more so when nothing going on. As Mrs.PC said, we have hashed and rehashed most things but sometimes we see something we didn't see when we revisit. Hang in there one day we won't be able to keep up!

I think LE said that the killer is never seen on camera again after the crime. Does anyone else remember that? I will try to find the link of statement from LE. Other than that does anyone know how long it takes to go through the cell/phone data LE received from the towers? And I think they said NYPD was helping with that. If so, maybe this case is not on the top of the list for NYPD? Think of all the cases they have in NY to work on as well…. IDK, just thinking out loud.

I still don't see the lettering - it's just a gray area there - almost like the letters or patch the lettering was on was removed. But you are probably right...it's probably just the lighting, etc. who knows.

here's a closeup and I just can't make out any lettering there

As you said, the lighting and the distance blends the letters together. Here is a slightly better capture:

There have only been three posts today, and there are currently 4 users viewing this thread. I understand since we have so little information, but it makes me sad for Missy and her family. I hope that LE is making progress behind the scenes.

I just watched the press conference for the Abigail and Liberty (Delphi) homicides, and I cannot get over the difference in LE's approach between the two cases. While LE in the Delphi investigation is keeping most everything close to the vest, they were not shy about asking for the public's help. They encouraged people to call in tips and told the public the types of things for which to look. It is in stark contrast to the "internet sleuths" who take up valuable time and resources in the MB investigation.

Jethro posted a few days ago about the delay in LE releasing some information to the public, and it got me thinking. Assuming that the Altima is involved (or even possibly involved), LE waited exactly 5 weeks to release the still. During that time, the Altima could have been sold or taken to a junk yard. Since no one knew to be on the lookout for a silver Altima, no one would have thought anything of it being taken to a scrap yard. Even if LE could trace a silver Altima back to a junk yard in the days following MB's death, they would not be able to confirm it was the Altima that was at SWFA.

Unless SP left DNA or some other personally identifiable item at the scene, I would imagine that most of the other evidence has been destroyed by now. I hope that justice is coming!

Just read your post and it tells me that MPD know who did this. They aren't asking us to help because they do know. I know some think corruption but I don't know if that's true. I've followed this case since it happened and if the police really don't know who did this, then it's time for the family to speak out and ask for help. Where is MB husband ?? Three precious girls lost their Mother! Everyone has gone quiet and nothing is said. A young mother can be brutally murdered and what ....life goes on??? Some think the family has a lawyer and tells them not to talk. Why? If you are not involved then get involved with this murder. Speak out!

I check in with this thread everyday! I'm following other cases but I still check in :) The quietness from the families really bug me.....
