I agree we don't have the whole tape. One thing I noticed is the camera appears to be jarring... could be from the blows from the SP. Has anyone slowed down the speed of the video and watched it? I have and it helps.
I have, and have zoomed it also, and I just don't see the door jarring. I'm coming to grips that SP came down the hall and went into the room, and that segment was clipped, but the camera was still on delay recording as SP came back out of the door, and we are allowed to see that.

Access to church keys.....can it be true that we never discussed that possibility in all these pages?! I don't recall such a discussion, but it's a good idea to consider. That could explain the rather randomness of breaking doors/windows....it was to cover the fact that the perp walked right in with a key.

I'm not sure I'm buying it yet, but I'm certainly considering it.

And, excellent sleuthing on the projects at the church that required those tools!

THAT ^^^

*DISCLAIMER, THIS IS ONLY A PERSONAL THEORY. I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE ANY OF THESE ASSUMPTIONS OR CONNECTIONS ARE FACTUAL*

I have developed a new suspect, who has never been mentioned anywhere as poi. He is a male and he is connected to the Creekside Church. Without naming or pointing to anyone, it is very possible, that this individual was

  • either involved in some activity, which MD had discovered (pedophile ?/ homosexual ?)

or

  • he had discovered MB in some infidelity possibly happening at the church prior to a morning workout with the camper group. (I am not trying to imply anything, just relating to what LE had mentioned about extramarital affair(s))
The motive therefore could be either fear of detection or scolding MB for her infidelity and a resulting disgrace of the church. I am tending to think possible 'fear of detection' here. Also, this individual had access to church keys and not only knew the layout of the church, when MB would arrive, but he also possibly personally knew her (details on file).

Notice, that a local religious organization belonging to Creekside Church was getting ready for cleaning/ fixing the playground area outside the church and a major cleanup of the interior of the church beginning on Saturday morning, April 16th (playground) and Wednesday, April 20th, inside the church.

The group was organizing their members (incl. my suspect) and had listed to bring the following tools to the church:

Items to bring:

Post hole diggers
Wheelbarrows (mixing concrete)
Shovels (dirt working tools for drainage swale to creek)
Chainsaw (other tree trimming tools to clear back area for future mowing)
Hammers
Tape measures
Levels
Trowels
Auger (if anyone has one!!)

It is extremely interesting, that those items were readily available from Saturday the 16th on all the way through Wednesday the 20th. Some of these tools may have been used to murder MB. Also, this may have been a good opportunity to just have access to various tools on Monday early morning.

This would also explain the individual's confidence about the possibly non functional outdoor surveillance cams. He would also be familiar about where and how to get into the church and out again, without getting lost or panicky after the attach.

Sources include the local (church) organization's FB page, the Creekside Church website including the bulletins ( containing further information regarding rooms and #s at the church).

YOU are are true sleuther....kudos to you for this well thought out theory! A few hundred pages back, I posted something about church custodial persons or landscaping crew being involved. I was heading in the direction you were but I fell off and didn't go as far as you! My $$$ says you are very close!

I am bringing this forward for those who may have missed it. Thanks Cannonball

In reference to the conversation about the bullet being removed, (if I am reading correctly). If she was shot & the bullet was removed, why leave the gun? Or is the gun, (serial # not being released) not the weapon the bullet came from? jmo idk

I remember reading that theory very early on and I am pretty sure it was here, but then it didn't come up again until recently. Did you read that somewhere or remember anyone talking about that, or did you just come up with that yourself?

It it is very possible. I don't discount anything at this point. It would make me rethink my positions for sure. SP is already a cold killer IMO, but that takes it to another level of coldness to me. Would seem to be all about pulling off an efficient or perfect crime scene/murder.

I read it here as well.

In regards to the earlier thought about SP having a key to enter the church... IMO, the SP didn't have a key, but I want to add that MANY members (and nonmembers) of our church have a key. I don't know that anyone actually knows who all has a key. Keys have been given to ladies who use the kitchen for dinners, 4-H leaders, Boy Scout leaders, Girl Scout leaders, custodian, etc.. My husband is a trustee and has one, so I can't even imagine how many keys are actually floating around in our community.

Great program as always Tricia. Many thanks to Pete Schulte. He gave good insight and I agree with the one he's giving the side eye. Me too, Pete.

TOS won't say more. :fence:

Same here. If we're on the same wavelength.

-Here’s something that never made sense to me. LE said that MB put up a struggle. To me, that means she lost the struggle. And you all guys are talking about theelement of surprise. And about striking quickly and hard. “Ambushing.” But then MB wouldn’t be able to put up astruggle. She’s either predominately incapacitated (and can’t put up a struggle). Or she’s not. And can put up a struggle. You really can’t have your cake and eat it on this one. I’m not sure who’s right.
She certainly could have been hit without being incapacitated. Put up her arms to defend herself, a bag ripped out of her hands and tossed across the room all while being ambushed and sugns of a struggle. These things aren't black and white.

Hang on!

I think I just found the info about the playground clean up on FB - but it's from 2013. Nin, is this what you meant and if so was it repeated this year?

I think it was also damaged during a tornado late last year. I'll need to verify that again.
Someone stole all of their playground equipment years ago.

At our church, the cameras are set so that when one it triggered by movement, others also start recording. That way the few seconds it takes a camera to come on and begin recording aren't missed as someone goes from one area to the next.
Thank you! That helps a lot!

Wait a minute! Are we now thinking that the perp had a key but broke in the kitchen door and if they had keys to all rooms at least one on the video was locked and attempted to be opened.............so no key for that one. Missy, reportedly DID have a key which could have been duplicated if someone really wanted a key. I suppose it's possible that someone who had keys deliberately broke in so as not to eventually LOOK like a suspect, but that's way out there, IMO. I think that the time the place and the opportunity to kill her brutally was the mission. JMO

I read it here, not an original idea of mine and I don't recall reading it MSM. Speculation only, part of brainstorming process.

JMOpinion

A few days ago, I posted the hypothesis that if both a gun AND puncture wounds were involved, perhaps the puncture wound or wounds were caused by the perp trying to remove the bullet casings to hamper identification. It didn't seem to resonate with very many at the time, but I'm glad to hear someone else thinks this is a possibility. I just don't know why else the perp would feel the need to use both weapons otherwise. We really won't know until and unless this case goes to trial.

Regarding the building project this year the request says:
"...cleaning/ fixing the playground area outside the church and a major cleanup of the interior of the church beginning on Saturday morning, April 16th (playground) and Wednesday, April 20th, inside the church."

April 16th would not have been a Sat. in 2013, nor would April 20th have been a Wed., so this must have been a current request.

Where is that from, Verbonica? Can we have a link please? They obviously just use the same wording year after year.

Also, in reply to someone asking about whether someone could have prepped the church on Sunday 17th - there was a blood drive held that day so there would have been all kinds of people wandering about, not just the congregation.

True, it would not have been Sat or Wed
The original post didn't have links, just listed sources so it is harder to follow.

IIRC, someone from the medical field responded that quickly retrieving a bullet out of a body was not realistic, even if they had a pretty good mastery of anatomy.

But it it does make more sense that it was from April 20th, 2013 because that was a Saturday and it makes more sense that a work day would be on a Saturday so more people can work. It says bring your whole family and you would think a Wednesday is a work/school day.
