Hi NIN 😀
I agree FWIW! I suppose I watch wayyyy too much of the ID channels.

Typo - 67
True. I know it is farfetched and I am not pursuing that switchero direction. We'd have to have at least one more conspirator ( traveling family member) and that's when it gets murky. I just thought I'd mention the possibility.

Welcome to the typo club. Thanks to Shannon, Boots & A-Mimi, a couple pages back - Yes, I meant to type that MB is known to be 63" tall and had walked the same hallway as SP with the cameras presumably not changed or handled between SP's pass and MB's pass which must be useful info to LE.
When I take a step back and look at the larger picture of this case, I find it utterly ridiculous that MB was warned of some imaginary danger in going to her CG class alone in the early morning. The phrase "safe as churches" has been on my mind all along, and some rural church on a Monday morning when others are expected to arrive at any moment is a safe thing to do. I find notions that women cannot or do not go places alone all the time and are safe frankly absurd. This isn't some high crime inner city red light district. JMO but it is clear that this was not an interrupted burglary of the CoC but a very targetted murder with a great deal of preparation and planning. I do not believe that SP acted alone. I continue to have the opinion that LE is all over this case and is developing evidence, but it may take a long time.
Cui bono?
They will issue a preliminary death certificate with COD and MOD noted as pending. The preliminary death certificate can be used to notify banks and deed recorders so joint owners can remove the name of the decedent, and it needs to be presented to SSA to inform them of the death, etc. A final death certificate is issued when COD and MOD are finalized.

Respectfully, no, a DC cannot remove an owner's name from an asset and erase them from ownership. At least, not in Texas (but not anywhere else that I know either). That is what a probate court does, via the probate process (where the DC is merely used to establish that we have a deceased person), and the probate court has to legally determine who receives ownership of what the deceased used to own. In general, the DC is simply used as proof that Joe Smith has actually died, and is most useful in relation to assets that have some sort of "pay on death" aspect (such as life insurance), or to remove a deceased from a recurring billing account (such as electric bill, phone, etc).
If ownership is held as joint tenants with rights of survivorship (Which is common with marital assets), then they pass directly and do not go through probate.

ETA also, many/most? states have a minimum requirement for an estate to go through probate (ie, over 50,000 as an example). If an estate is too small for probate, then all ownership is changed pretty much with just a DC)

Yes, as I mentioned, a DC can be used for "pay on death" assets, of which a JTWROS asset is one example. However, it should be understood that such designations, while not necessarily rare, are not the norm by any means, and sharing ownership as a married couple is not at all the same thing as a JTWROS designation. Such an added instruction would have to be specifically requested, when the deed is originally prepared, and few do that. If it exists, such a designation in Texas is typically noted on taxing entity public records, and I see no evidence of it in this case.
Also, you added a note about the ability to avoid probate in certain states if there are less than 50,000 in assets under consideration. In Texas, that can apply if there is no real estate owned. But there is certainly real estate in play here, and the house alone is worth more than 50,000.
Hope that helps.
BratBat's work would be admissible as demonstrative evidence in a court of law and therefore quite reliable indeed and I can't imagine that LE has more advanced techniques.
Of several hypotheticals going around (no evidence of). This one does answer several questions. How did SP who seems less athletic) make sure they took out a potentially stronger more athletic foe. How did they do the deed and clean up well and get out of there so fast. Who was SP communicating with that night (he was a couple hundred yards away and serving as another lookout. If SP is female. It accounts for the male-like damage to the door. Did XX take her brother along? (Don't even know if she has one). It does create a few new ones. More witnesses. More alibis needed.I sometimes wonder if the SP in the church video is not the killer. I wonder if two were involved, and the real killer has managed to keep him/her self away from the camera.
I found an old tweet from Jeff Smith @ NBCDFW dated April 20. Did anyone bookmark the article as I'd like to see the quote in context. It almost has a "fairy tale ending" sound to it.

Husband's last words to her was "I love you"

I completely respect your POV. But to me, IMO, the dire warning was nothing more than infantilization and undermining of a competent adult woman who was capable of taking of herself and also has a history of taking care of others. I do not doubt that it was said, but I find the remark suspicious in context, and then it was repeated by MT as though that is confimation of the validity of a position that a woman should always be frightened to be alone, as you say, in the middle of nowhere. I am addressing that context - it really is the middle of nowhere - and unless there had been a recent upsurge in crime and attacks on women, MB had been safe and was safe, except for some specific person(s) wanting her quite dead - not robbed, not attacked, not injured, not scared, not raped, not carjacked, dead.SandyQLS - I don't find it odd that BB would warn his wife to be careful going to an empty church in the middle of nowhere at 4am, alone, or that he expressed concern for her safety. In fact it seems perfectly normal husband behavior. If the creepy text was scary in nature and he knew about it, it would be even more reason to express concerns for her safety and would be odd if he hadn't.
...RSBM...
By 'fairy tale', are you suggesting it's somehow suspicious? I don't see that at all, considering how routinely some couples tell each other that they love them.
What I find odd is that LE 's height estimate for SWATPERP is 4 to 9 inches shorter than BratBat's estimate. BratBat's work would be admissible as demonstrative evidence in a court of law and therefore quite reliable indeed and I can't imagine that LE has more advanced techniques.
Not at all Montjoy. Why would you think that? No more so than Brandon was headed to his "heavenly place" when Missy died.
