Also in my digging today, I decided to look into the "divorce". In quotes because, it keeps being rumored about, but nobody seems to know for sure, etc. So how deep did BB and MB's marital struggles go? Did they go to the edge of divorce and then decided to step back? Or were no steps taken in the first place?
I found that information about civil actions (including divorce) in Ellis County can be searched online. It's public data, available at the link
http://www.lgs-hosted.com/rmtelldck.html
The username and password are already filled in, so all you have to do is click Login. Then click Civil Case History to get to the Inquiry screen.
I used the search function to try to look up the last name "BEVERS" as the Plaintiff. I got two hits, but they weren't OUR Bevers, and they weren't divorce actions. I tried entering "BEVERS" as the Defendant, but got no hits. In the Cause of Action field I tried every divorce category, and then sorted the Plaintiff last name alphabetically. Nothing. I did not find anything on the Bevers.
So, it's looking like neither BB nor MB filed for divorce at any point. At least not in Ellis County, and haven't they lived in that county continuously for many years? Would they have to file for divorce in the county of residence, or could one of them have moved to a different county and immediately filed there?
Not saying that they never contemplated divorce, or one party never moved out temporarily or whatever. But as far as a court action to petition for divorce or even separation, I found nothing in Ellis County.
SteveS, you're a legal mind. Is there anything I'm not thinking of?
