I thought hit from the get go. The part i don't understand is why they would attack from the front and not just a surprise hit from behind.
Could be the first blow/blows were to the back of the head. She turned, fought, then wounds to chest. We really don't know yet. We don't know how many strikes, where the lethal strike was placed or if there was overkill. We don't know much.

Exactly. We don't know the details of Missy's injuries yet. Front, back, or side. We don't know.

I think we know that she has puncture wound in the chest, but that doesn't mean the attack wasn't an ambush from behind....at the onset.

Oh, and I'm mad at you for the ATF=Murder for hire thingy. :giggle: :slap:

One of the cases I've been most emotionally involved with was Alanna Gallagher's murder. I believe it was less than a month from the child's death to the arrest, but it felt like FOREVER.

In the meantime two things were happening:

--Community and WS were on totally the wrong track

--LE was very tight lipped, said nothing was ruled out, but also said no immediate threat to community. Behind the scenes, they had the killer in their sights very early on and were slowly collecting and verifying evidence.

Not saying either outcome will be analogous. Just reminds me of that case in terms of utter weirdness.

Agree! Especially the part I bolded.

Who is Kermit?

Sorry. It's a meme. Kermit the frog sips tea and always says "but that's none of my business" it reminded me of that. I'm tired, please forgive me.

Just jumping in. Haven't read here for a couple of days but Googled the news and saw that they released the manner of death, puncture wounds. So a large hammer was found by her body as well as tools from THE CHURCH? So this person brought the hammer but then picked up some tools somewhere while he was there?

I tried to capture a photo of the face when the killer is walking away from the door that he/she was trying to pry or whatever. It's not real clear but maybe someone else can work with it. View attachment 93818

As time moves on, it's harder and harder for me and many locally that I know not to look outside the CG/business circle.

The main reason is the cameras. IMO, Only a handful of people at that church knew the cameras were motion-activated. If someone inquired about about them, the church staff would find that highly suspicious. Then, it's often reported on here that the "outside cameras didn't work." They DID work, but weren't activated. It's not a coincidence to me that the perp picked a rainy day and went undetected outside with ease. Then they callously performed on camera and moseyed around for all of us and killed Missy by finding a spot off-camera. This is no coincidence to me. Missy lives on a road that is very spaced out and dark. They didn't ambush her there in the driveway. They picked a place that they could perform on camera bc they think they're smarter than everyone else.

The only people who would know these specifics would be those in her family (which I 100% believe they're innocent) or CG associates or their spouses. As some campers on here have noted, they just showed up for class and didn't know what was motion-activated or not.

I don't buy the theory that it's someone who stalked her. Once again, how would they know such intricate details of that church.

I don't buy that they left on motorcycle for a few reasons. For one, Hwy 287 has multiple lights and is desolate that time of the night. Someone would have remembered them if they were dressed in that gear. If they picked the back roads, there's no way they sped through there. The roads back behind the church have steep, steep curves that are slick. Even if the rain stopped at that time, they'd have to take those curves very slow. It's hard for me to believe the high school cameras there or fire department camera across the street wouldn't pick up a vehicle that time of the night.

We talk a lot about Midway Airport. However, there's a neighborhood in town called Eagles Nest Estates. All the homeowners there (I think 40 homes) have airplanes, personal hangars and a private runway behind their houses. I don't suspect this to be the case here, I just wanted to point out there are multiple places.

JMO...I believe CG leaders and those married to them would know the "lay of the land" better than anyone else. They would have an excuse why they were out at that time of the morning. They'd understand she would walk inside and open up the restroom or facilities. They knew precisely how much time would be needed to get done and out.

On here, many of us put so much effort into dissecting what people say on FB. Perhaps we should focus on those who had NOTHING to say when she was murdered. It's one thing to be her family, in shock and quiet. It's another to know Missy and never acknowledge the loss of this beautiful soul, yet you continue to post about worldly things. That's not a coincidence to me.

Well Kermit, you have my attention. It should be public record, correct? Is there a fee to obtain?
I don't know. There are 256 Counties in Texas. Some records are open and accessible. Some not. Wish I had a better answer for you.

The investigation isn't taking longer than I expected. The murder only happened a couple of weeks ago.

Yup. Another thing that has me flabbergasted reading this thread. I think people are so used to watching an hour CSI or Murder She Wrote and expect everything to happen before the "show" is over.

This is reality. Not a TV show or a movie.

Things take time. LE takes time. Forensic evidence takes time to process. LE needs enough to arrest and convict someone before making any move. (especially with such a high profile case)

There are cases that I've followed where an arrest still hasn't been made in over 7 years. (Haleigh Cummings)

LE owes us nothing. They owe the victim and her family. They won't rush to judgment or rush to an arrest because a handful of people on a crime forum or in news article comments think it's not fast enough.

(Just jumping off your post, by the way)

I wouldn't be surprised if LE tips reporters that he has called them up to say, "Hey I’m coming up here, I’ve got this on my mind?” The more he talks the more they can analyze his statements.

I guess that the more Brandon talks to the media, the more the public can analyze his statements. JMO

I see creepy lips in that pic! Either a man or a woman with some serious lip injectors.... That's just too real for me.

First post and somewhat behind because I was just granted access for pictures (takes a long time to get a membership here!) but this post regarding the cameras has me thinking.

Do we know any official info on how long the outside cameras were out?

Also have they released if all cameras were functioning? I know that they say some are motion related, but I was wondering if perhaps the reason LE thinks Missy was targeted is that the suspect took out the camera where her body was found? Maybe he/she did want to take off gear/helmet to make it more personal and strategically took out cameras on his/her exit plan? Possibly hide a stash of clothes etc.

I also want to compliment this forum for its professionalism and the fact that people care about the victims (and families!) I have enjoyed my few days lurking!

:wagon: LOL forgot ya had to join to see pictures and links. Glad ya did and that you posted. We don't know anything other than the outside camera (s) were not functioning that morning. and only what the was said about them having like 30 min total of video but not continuous. LOL basically nothing and I sure it for great reason protecting the integrity of the case. Doesn't mean we prying eyes don't want to see huh ? ;) myself included. I want more clues what i looking for lol

You may be tired but your brilliance shines lol. Nothing to forgive. I think we are all weary with wanting the killer caught.

I think BB is continually talking to the press because he is so desperate to "clear" his name. I don't think it is "clicking" to him that the more he talks the more scrutiny HE is under. I really don't believe he or his family are involved in this, I really take it that he is coasting through minute by minute.

I don't think I would share the picture of my girls with sunflowers at their recently murdered moms gravesite. That's just me, MOO. But it make sense if he is using media as a form of therapy.

The more he talks publicly, the thoughts in his head may quiet down some when everyone is gone. May even allow him some peace to know he has tried to prove his innocence.

Personally, at WS we have seen many of cases where the perp "talked" to much and busted themselves by interviews!! So he's pretty much damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

ORIGINAL POST
Has it occurred to anyone else that the reason this investigation is taking longer than some of us might have expected is because they are investigating a 3-way conspiracy?

Namely, an out of town murderer, his/her getaway driver and the person who hired them.

The investigation isn't taking longer than I expected. The murder only happened a couple of weeks ago.
I understand some are not as impatient as others.

But it is not unreasonable to have expected/hoped for/prayed for an arrest -- or reports about a possible POI -- by now.

There was an arrest in less than two weeks in this 2012 case vs. 16 days so far for Bevers murder.

"Las Vegas fireman 'hired longtime friend as hitman to kill wife' in brutal hammer attack"
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...nd-hitman-kill-wife-brutal-hammer-attack.html

I could have done a better job of emphasizing my main point -- this case may be more complicated than many of us originally thought.

Cheers.

R.I.P. Missy Bevers.

Could friend have met her @ home 3:30 r/t change of plans from bad weather and asked to help her set up @ church using dtrs car, then drove the car back home and disappear for day?

I was under the impression she was getting up at 330? :welcome: to the Threads!!!
