This article says the tools were from the church.

"Midlothian police released a longer clip showing the person walking through different parts of the church and swinging what appears to be a large hammer. Police indicated it was found near her body along with other tools from the church."

Hi. I have read that over and over. That is not a quote from LE about "tools from the church", I think it's sloppy reporting because it's grown legs and became fact. Of course I must say this is JMO because all I have to compare are the legal warrants.

If he really did try to clean up, or clean up at the crime scene, that's great ! Ups the possibility that he left a little piece of himself there. Also, makes it fairly unlikely that this was a "hit".

How does that make it unlikely that it's a hit?

I have been leaning towards murder for hire since the start. Something I was stuck on was... Who uses a hammer? Then I did a google search. Apparently it happens enough that I saw 3-4 different cases of a hammer being the weapon used in a hit on just the first page!

Exactly!! Wouldn't there be bloody footprints and blood splatter everywhere as well?

I'm taking the "cleaning up" news with a huge grain of salt until I hear it from a more reliable source than the Daily Mail.

However, I have been thinking that the perp stripped out of the SWAT gear in the church after the murder. It would be wonderful if s/he left an article of clothing behind.

Wishful thinking on my part.

4. I'm confused about the new news that the perp tried to clean up the scene. If I understand the timeline correctly there wasn't much time for cleanup after the murder. Might be an erroneous statement?

With it not coming officially from LE, that news might be wrong, but going off what LE has said the perp potentially had a lot of time depending what and where the first camper was 'outside.' If they're in their car playing games on their cell phone, they've got to almost 5:00, but if they're standing outside under the awning, then they've only got until around 4:30.

[snipped]... We've seen a few cases of the spouse being out of town when it happens. A solid alibi does not prove no involvement. I'm not blaming BB, just throwing that possibility out there.....

Not just out of town, but fishing trips (e.g., the Laci Peterson & Ellen Sherman murders - I thought of another one yesterday, but now can't remember it),

I hate to bring up shirtgate, but the amount of the blood most likely at the scene in this type of attack, warrants the interest in any bloody clothing.

Breck, as a local, thinks that the CG connection possibly holds the key to this murder, whether a member or a spouse of a member. I see female all over SWATPERP but . . .

perhaps this is the husband of a CG camper who is threatened by his wife's new found passion for fitness and feared losing her to the CG group of players. New found passions tend to make people talk about it constantly and it can take over their life, making the rest of their family feel neglected. There had just been a days long group hug in Austin, touting CG and all of its great benefits to improve lives. Maybe the Austin trip was the trigger because the wife came home with all sorts of plans to begin her own fitness business which threatened the spouse's control over his family life.

You make a good point. As I was looking through CG posts on various FB pages, it started to feel sort of cult-like to me. I am not suggesting CG is a cult!!! It just has that feeling of taking over people's lives, and people in the group generate that feeling for each other to be part of the inner circle of CG.

One of my children was involved with a sport that had a similar vibe. Someone warned me at the beginning of our involvement, "Beware - it's a cult!" and I laughed it off. I do not think it is a cult, but the sport definitely took over and there was pressure to get more and more involved at the exclusion of everything else. I could see the circle tightening - there was pressure to drop all other activities except this particular sport. My child eventually dropped out, not because of disinterest in the sport but because the pressure to be ONLY involved with that sport and nothing else.

(My kids are involved with sports, and this is the only one where the instructor disapproved other sports. All other coaches/instructors were supportive of any athletic activity, while at the still time preferring their own. This particular sport was way more possessive.)

I totally forgot about that.

I can see someone really pissed off about the pressure to be CG all the time....though I don't know if CG is that way in real life....just a vibe I got from the frequent rah-rah postings.

This person had to be covered in blood. Why wear so many items of clothing for it to spray on? How did they plan for this? Leave it there, and risk leaving behind your own dna on the helmet, gloves, boots, everything. So you take it with you. That's a whole lot of things to stash or get rid of. Those items would stand out in the dumpster or ditch. Burn it I guess. That creates another new crime scene and more chances of being caught. Some of their actions appear quite planned and then some of them are not so much IMO.

The whole outfit is crazy to me. So un necessary but it has completely worked for the person so far.

I think the perp put on and took off the outfit at the church, stashing it in a duffle bag or gym bag. The outfit totally works, imo, as it covers everything and can be stripped off quickly. I'm guessing the perp wore regular clothes underneath that remained clean.

But, yeah, the scene had to have been bloody. :(

From the timeline we have been given I don't see how the perp would have time to clean up.

So I was at the MPD Facebook page this morning just to see if there were any new comments. Found one a bit interesting. Went to check it out, turned out to not resonate with me....

BUT something else did. Has anyone else noticed that before this tragic murder of MB, BB was not as religious as he is appearing to be now? Maybe this horrible tragedy brought him closer to God or maybe it's all for show! Time will tell. JMO

Thoughts of his behavior have led me to a conclusion many may not share, but I think he is just a goofy guy who needs attention. What he says, when he says it, how he says it, how he delivers it....it's all just awkward. I don't mean to be judgmental, but he gives me the impression he isn't very intelligent. Throw in the idea he is trying to be the leader of the family now, which he didn't appear to be, and you have a whole can of weirdness outside of your comfort bubble. This is why I don't consider him to be a schemer.

I know you asked Breck this question but I think she and I are on the same page regarding theories as to what situation led to Missy's murder and who may be responsible. I'm also local. I can say that there is someone who is under the umbrella of suspicion by many locals who fits the body-type and has a smiler gait...and the eyes fit in with the picture of the perp that Sparky recently posted. IMO, LE is aware of her and may have questioned her already.

Hi txmommy,

I'm not going to ask who you think it could be as I have my own suspicion and I'm not even local, but with the specific theory you mention, did this person act alone? I don't mean was there a second person on site, but is there a second person who knew/knows about it?

I agree....unless the perp was still "working" while Camper #1 sat in the parking lot. We've been assuming that the perp left before Camper #1 arrived, but we really don't know that for a fact.

Do we know how long MB has been a trainer? As to the question of what happened 11 months ago to make her start texting him daily. Possibly when his health began to deteriorate she felt it would be a great way to give him affirmation of her love, yes it could be after they worked through something or it might be so innocent enough that she simply wanted him to smile when he got the messages.

This crime resonates with me because it seems like MB could have been me or many of my friends 5-10 years ago. Young mothers raising families with the regular stressors of daily life. Marriages go through ups and downs, children are a joy but a challenge, we try to stay or get fit after 40, while squeezing in so many other obligations.
I had a long speculative post written but it really didn't add much except my opinion.
In a nutshell as well IMO, this is a "home grown" crime with a motive as old as time. The perp is not a professional and regardless of how well planned, mistakes were made. Those will lead to the killer and justice for Missy and her family, especially her daughters. My heart goes out to each one of you who are personally touched by this horrible act. I so hope an arrest is made soon.

just throwing this out to get it out of my head. With all the garb covering the perp, it s highly unlikely to me that the blood on FIL's shirt could be from the same person. I am sure that LE knows where the blood on the shirt was located, how much, and if the "spatter" was consistent with a murder of this sort, As for his grins during the interview we have seen, I think FIL has the personality of a jolly soul and it is just his nature to smile all the time.

That's one aspect that gets me- so much of it seems planned and then some of it doesn't. Some aspects of it look like a crime of passion and some seem like they would have been planned out far in advance. That's why I'm wondering if there wasn't a catalyst- perhaps this person had been angry for a while and planning something but wasn't totally sure they were going to act on it? Did something happened that made this person snap and they went with the plan they had made up to that point? I don't know. This case has so many coincidences and then some things that aren't...
