A three-time convicted felon who got a 12-year-old girl pregnant during eight years of sexual abuse and tried to force her to have an abortion has been sentenced to life in prison without parole plus 100 years.

A Limestone County jury convicted Joshua Weibye, 33, of Groesbeck, of continuous sexual abuse of a young child, four counts of indecency with a child and sexual assault of a child the defendant was prohibited from marrying after a trial in February.

Limestone County officials did not charge the mother, but the mother’s parental rights to the girl were terminated in May.

This story is infuriating. The mother allowed the abuse to continue, then when it all came out took the girl to Mexico and forced a medication abortion upon her and then returned the girl to her abuser for more. Then took the girl and her siblings on the run to evade prosecution. and all authorities did was severe her parental rights to the girl??! Outrageous.

I agree Ticya, but it is good the judge threw the proverbial book at the husband. I have a feeling the mother wasn't a citizen and went back down south. I am a Texan and am glad that some judges here are getting the message loud and clear.
