Horror crash that killed 9 was caused by father high on meth

New DNA evidence has shown that it was Heinrich Siemens who was driving the car and not his 13-year-old son Ricky when it crashed last year killing six people in a minibus and both of them.

The boy's father, Henrich Siemens, was the actual driver of the pickup that swerved into a van carrying the University of the Southwest’s golf teams from New Mexico, the NTSB says.

“In addition to the DNA test results identifying the father as the pickup truck driver, NTSB post-crash toxicological testing revealed the presence of methamphetamine in the pickup truck driver’s blood,” the statement said.

Robert Molloy, a transportation research analyst at the NTSB, told reporters Thursday that the error was made because the vehicles were so badly damaged and burnt.

While the initial investigation indicated the front left tire of the pickup truck had blown out, causing the crash, an NTSB report released Thursday said there's no indication a tire failure led the pickup truck to swerve into the oncoming lane. But the crash is still under investigation.”

Thanks to the mod for updating the thread title. I guess it's not much better to have it published that your husband killed people because he was on meth, but I think it was even more terrible for the mom that they said the boy was driving and now that's not true. The horrible things said online about the boy, like "you can just tell by looking at his picture that he was evil," were so unfair to his surviving family, no matter what else happened.

The poor son was blamed not only for this terrible accident, but also for burning the house.
It was reported he "left eggs cooking on the stove", while, in fact, somebody was preparing meth there.
What a terrible life of a scapegoat.
