I totally agree with the post above by Snoopster. I am also invested in this case but really without much more info or news or leads, this man will drop into the cold cases. I don't know how good the investigation is. But, I do know that LE drops the ball sometimes.

We have heard Fry and Franz Rds in Katy was the last place he was. But is it? Or is it where his phone was?
My point is... where was he really last seen? Home in Stafford? Surveillance capture somewhere?
Where was he going to/coming from?

If the family is OK with a presser, maybe do that? A family pleading for a loved one is compelling, news usually covers that.

A vigil for the 1-month missing mark would be a good idea. Does he have friends/relatives/church group/whatever who could get involved?

FTN, I asked some questions in an earlier post about Trung's habits and associates and you said you would pass those questions along, but that you thought that the family had already thought of those. I assumed from this response that the family was discussing this with law enforcement in the view that LE would handle everything. If they think that LE will handle everything, then the general public will not feel that their involvement is welcome or necessary. No response to those questions was shared with this group, let alone the general public, so the people here really don't have much more to go on and will drift to other cases where they have information to work with.

I'm not saying that the family should share private or personally sensitive information, but if they don't want to then they shouldn't be surprised that this case receives less attention than other cases.

I know that's sad, but it's reality. :(

People want to relate to a situation. They want to know that he is a 'real' person and that there are 'real' people who care about him.

Any personal or situational information you can (or are willing) to share will garner more engagement in this case.

By the way, I am totally engaged in this case. Why? First, it's my general nature. Second, I have 2 sons who are young adults and I can't imagine them just disappearing off the face of the earth one day. :/

Thank you, Snoopster. You raise valid points. We by no means discount the impact and power of this forum and others like it. We hope that everyone here and on other sites are aware of my (and my family's) gratitude. The brainstorming, inquiries, frustrations, and suggestions are all appreciated!

As Coldpizza mentioned in a previous post, this isn't something that family are usually prepared for and ours is not an exception. Each day brings new challenges and surprises.

I will try to get a family member who has more familiarity with Trung's daily habits to join in on the discussion. Please stay tuned.

That is the first I have seen with a specific... which isn't really that specific. If it was him, WM should have surveillance of him.

Hopefully FindTrungNgo can validate that sighting for us for us and if true LE has checked the cameras.

Since I live in the Houston area, I know that there have been a helluva lot of carjackings in various Walmart parking lots recently. Lots!

LE will not confirm nor deny whether they have checked the security cameras at that WM.

Information has been coming in slowly. So far this is what we know...Trung lives in Stafford, TX with one of his brothers. The brother saw him earlier in the day before he left for work. A friend talked to him later in the day and Trung said he was headed to WM. Trung did not come home that night, but the brother was not worried because he figured Trung went home to visit their parents. Also, Trung worked as an electrical engineer/contractor. Those who have either been a contractor or hired a contractor know how schedules can vary significantly day-to-day. It all depends on the timeline and demands of the project. Sometimes due to deadlines, he would have to work long hours and pretty late into the evening.

After the second night where Trung did not come home, his brother called home to the parents' house. Trung was not there and no one had heard from him in the last day...day and a half. That was not until the late afternoon of Thursday, January 17th. The family did the usual circuit that family members of missing people seem to do...call everyone they can freaking think of! After the family discovered his cell phone was found on the side of Fry Road in Katy, Texas, they realized Trung was missing and contacted the Stafford PD for assistance.

The phone was handed over to the Harris County PD because it was found within their jurisdiction. It has since been handed over to Detective Ousley of the Stafford PD who stated he can neither confirm nor deny whether the phone has been submitted to the Forensics Department for investigation.

At this point, we have the details on what it takes to extract the case from Detective Ousley's care and to have the Texas Rangers take it over. However, as you can imagine, it isn't as easy as picking up the phone and making a call...AND it is going to take time, which pains me but it does not look like we really have a choice right now. :-(

We are looking into getting a private investigator but it is quite expensive. Not that we are putting a limit on how much we are willing to spend to find Trung, BUT...resources are limited. It sucks but it is reality. Who has money set aside for a tragedy like this? Still...we need to look into the option. We need more experienced professionals on our side, working this case. If anyone on this board can recommend anyone or knows of anyone who might be able to help us locate a skilled private investigator, then please let me know.

Thank you for your questions. My answers are: Yes. No. Sort of. And we have professional help working with us to get the case transferred or at least get it the attention it deserves. I can get more details about what exactly it takes if that is what you want to know.

I believe no one missing person case should go untouched or unnoticed. Each case should be given it's due attention, especially in the early stages since that is when you typically have the greatest chances of finding the person. It is just so frustrating how the lead detective seems to have sat on the case. It is possible that he is working a sensitive angle where it is necessary to keep the family in the dark to not jeopardize the integrity of the case (e.g. not to scare any suspects away etc) BUT I highly doubt that. The types of follow up questions we have received from the detective, now 20+ days after the case was filed shows a lack of concern, attention, and care for this case.

I know not all LE officers are this way. I guess we got unlucky... :-(

working on organization a vigil and/or press conference -- so far the news outlets we have contacted have not shown interest in covering the story, but I think that with the clear support from the community we may have stirred things up a bit. Please continue to bug the media. I tweet to reporters and post FB postings on their pages whenever possible. I think it would help if it wasn't always from the same source.

FTN--Have you reached out to seeking the lost facebook page? It has over 100,000 followers and is another quick way to spread the word of Trung. Just send her a message with the flyer you want posted and she will post it. It will get a high number of shares rather quickly.

My heart breaks for your family FTN. You all deserve better than this detective is giving this case. What a shame.

Did Trung make it to work? What were his hours that day?

The investigators can't confirm the phone has been handed over to forensics? Thankfully you have an attorney that sounds fishy.

I know it must be hard to be patient (I can't imagine) but your family needs to stay strong and diligent.

As far as the PI is concerned please get advise from those in the know. I've read the LE will shut down communications if a PI gets involved. (but please don't read to much in to that as I'm no expert)

You've got alot on your plate but keep staying strong. Stay close to the groups that continue to help and lead you in the direction your comfortable with. IMO don't alienate LE but keep moving forward with all angles you can.

I appreciate so much your insight and feedback. You are right, Coldpizza. We will be sure to seek advice from those in the know before taking any major steps. Also, it is easy to incorrectly portray oneself in the online medium. I do not want to have our concern for Trung's well-being and eagerness for his return to be miscontrued as disdain for LE officials and their efforts.

I am sorry if my previous comments offended or put off anyone. I realize that, at the end of the day, we are ALL trying to achieve the same goal -- to find Trung Ngo and bring him home. There are many different paths that can leads us there. The best one is the one where we exert unified effort in this search.

As for his hours for that day, I do not have those details at this time. I will check to see if we have made progress on uncovering information about his book of jobs for that day. Will post as soon as I find that out.

Thanks, MissSunshine. We did reach out to seekingthelost several weeks ago. Looks like they reposted Trung's information again tonight.

SeekingTheLost has been very helpful in spreading the word of Trung and we are grateful for the exposure.

We are working on contacting the agencies that were mentioned earlier this week. Best efforts forward! Thanks all for your continued support.

I will be out it Katy not to far from I-10 and Fry today. I am going to try and print some fliers to put up where I will be.
