Found Deceased TX - Vanessa Melson, 29, Grapeland, 17 June 2015 *Arrests*

Thanks pappa rob! I even Googled to find out what an ACSO warrant was and I guess it is a good thing I did not know what it was!

I thought the Rangers were looking into her murder also. I would be looking at Birdow right about now since Mobley was released. What is an ACSO warrant? " 2:35 a.m.- Officers arrested Ashley Quinn on an ACSO warrant on the 2000 block of South Sycamore Street."

So, did Quinn squeal on Birdow when she was arrested in March?

Who is the bigger fish? Birdow or Mobley? My money is on Birdow right now. Just guessing Mobley was the tipster all along and he was in Smith County jail for his own protection from Birdow.

We do have a bargaining chip with the death penalty ~ depending on if this guy wants to make a deal for copping to Vanessa's murder...

I think it is very possible that Mobley was put in jail for his own protection. If he had violated probation by lying about where he was when Vanessa went missing, I would imagine he would go to jail for a longer period of time than the small amount of time he was held at Smith.

Yet, nobody charged with her murder?

What a strange case! They had Mobley in custody once in Tyler and let him go, I thought. Where would that North-East facility in the US be? He's not in Tyler, Smith county jail.

Father of victim: 'I forgive them' <-------- Note the use of them. So more than one suspect? "It was not uncommon for Vanessa to go weeks without talking to us," Jeff Melson said. "She always uses facebook so when she did not use it for several days, I knew something was not right."

Jeff Melson said Vanessa had a couple of hard years but was trying to get back to Houston and be with her children.

"That was a goal of hers, and of ours too," Melson said.

Jeff Melson said he has been through a lot of emotions but is ready to move on.

"Until today, I didn't understand it," Melson said. "I have seen people do it in court but I have never understood why they would forgive them, until it happened to me. Some people especially some of the family might be like, "Serious, really; you forgive them. Why shouldn't I? I would want to be forgiven. I am a Christian, I am taught to not judge, because we will all be judged."

Melson was a mother to three. Her father said the children are with another family member in the Houston area.

He's a bigger person than I. Not sure I could forgive quite so easily.

What he said is true. I forgave my brother and sister in laws murderer. And I pray for him.

Mobley is in Elkton FCI in Lisbon, Ohio. His release date from there is 10-9-2015.

Presumably he will then be sent to Houston County, Texas as stated in the news reports. Hopefully there will be additional charges waiting on his arrival.

"Released" does not always mean someone is free from custody. It can also indicate a prisoner has been transferred from one facility to another. My thinking is that Mobley was transferred to Elkton from the Smith County facility on 8-4-2015.

There are federal judges, federal magistrates, and a US Attorney's office in Tyler; the motion to revoke would have been initiated from Tyler and heard there.

There is something unsettling to me about someone said to be as horrifically violent as Mobley being on federal probation. If he is tweaked so far out there, it seems a probation officer would have noticed he wasn't trodding a straight path.

It is never outside the realm of possibilities in the methamphetamine world (and the worlds that investigate those worlds) that he could have been providing information on others himself. If so, that would be a cruel irony.

I like to think I'm well-seasoned and well-aged when it comes to observing the world of methamphetamines. Sadly, I continue to see things that once seemed unimaginable.

An old-school tweaker told me a few years ago that the product on the market these days is really, really bad craziness. I'm believing him.

Wow! Thank you for the info Everyday Grace!

Yes, thank you Everyday Grace!

I too am extremely bothered that Mobley was out on the streets with his previous charges. Scenario reminds me of James "Whitey" Bulger. Not quite at "Whitey's level", but similar if Mobley was giving names to LE in exchange for being able to be out from behind bars. Vanessa would still be alive if this creep wasn't out and about. Yeah! I'm PO'd!

Okay! What the Hey?

FCI Elkton

A low security federal correctional institution with an adjacent low security satellite prison.

Low security? Seriously??? Low security?

How to send things here
Inmate Mail

Inmate Money

Freight and non-USPS parcels

Staff Mail

So is this like the Clinton facility where Richard Matt and David Sweat escaped? Sounds like this place is fancier since it is "federal". Get that punk back to Houston county and Houston County jail where he'll know he's an inmate. Federal prison my arse!

Flakka is the new drug going around now...

"Also known as alpha-PVP, it has a similar chemical makeup to other drugs commonly known as "bath salts," according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

It typically comes in a white or pink crystalline form and is foul-smelling. It can be eaten, snorted, injected, or vaporized in an electronic cigarette device, according to the national institute, which has included flakka on a list of emerging trends.

It is particularly potent when vaporized, sending the drug into the bloodstream quickly, and making the user particularly susceptible to overdose."
