Only sixteen and 'dating' a grown man in his mid twenties

I could be wrong, but he's 7 years older rather than 11 I think. She was 16 when she died, 4 years ago, so she'd be 20 today and he's currently 27. So he was 23 when he was grooming her. Still very wrong and rightly illegal.Othram was involved in solving this case, but their wording does sort of make me uncomfortable. This man was not her "boyfriend". She was a child, and he was 11 years older than her. He's a predator and a groomer, and she had no ability to consent to this "relationship". I hope he's located and arrested soon before he can harm another young girl.

Either way, thank you, Othram, for helping give her name back.
Rest in peace, Yeimy.
Yeah, you're right. My mistake. However, as you said, still very illegal and disgusting.I could be wrong, but he's 7 years older rather than 11 I think. Reminds me of so many cases - Evelyn Colòn, Patricia McGlone, Patty Otto and many more. Teens, dated and often married men in their 20s and 30s, fell victim to them.'As the investigation continued, authorities received a tip from a woman searching for a missing relative. She voluntarily provided a DNA sample and a direct comparison to the profile of the unidentified person confirmed that the remains belonged to 16-year-old Yeimy Maciela Beltrand. Beltrand had been reported missing to the Houston Police Department by her mother on April 30, 2021. Investigators believe she was killed in Harris County and that her body was subsequently transported and left in neighboring Wharton County.![]()

Huh, I didn't notice the similar surnames. I looked up Beltrand and it's apparently most commonly found in Honduras but quite uncommon. Beltran is much more common though, especially across Latin America. I'm going to guess coincidence but anything's possible...Is he related to her too?
