We have a family that was murdered in guilderland ny in 2014. They were from the south eastern region of China. It’s interesting that the murders remain unsolved and there were Chinese language newspapers reports at the time that implied something about a large undocumented human trafficking ring from NYC to upstate. I won’t go into details, they are victims no matter what and the details are out there, but it doesn’t give me hope that our Asian Doe will be identified, especially if they are a victim of a larger human trafficking ring. Hopefully somebody will recognize Asian doe that doesn’t fear retaliation. I’m not suggesting that they are connected just that we have at least 3 unsolved Chinese family murders across the country and there seems to be a real issue in solving these types of crimes.

Is Pak a Chinese name?
Wasn't SG driver Pak and involved in people smuggling or trafficking?

What about Chi Ming Fong? He was seen for the last time by his mother in Toronto in 1998.

Speaking Chinese: Cantonese vs. Mandarin
A common misconception in the U.S. is that people “speak Chinese.” In reality, Cantonese is the language spoken in southern China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asian islands, and in immigrant communities in the United States. Mandarin literally means “speech of officials” and is the language spoken in northern China.
Fong is a Cantonese last name and Cantonese is the language spoken in southern China.

Comparison:
- This Doe was between 17 and 23 years old, about 5-foot-6 and of Southern Chinese descent.
- David (Chi Ming) Fong was 5'8, 20 years of age and also is of Southern Chinese Descent.

There is not much to go on that is true. But if the Doe was trans that might be the reason.
Why Do Parents Reject Their LGBTQ Kids?
The #1 reason for homelessness among LGBT youth is that they ran away because of family rejection. The #2 reason is that they were thrown out for being LGBT.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office website has a set up where you can submit tips specifically for the Gilgo cases so I sent this tip along. This has probably been looked at already, but you never know!

Oh and I also forwarded my tip along to the Toronto Police Service - Homicide and Missing Persons Unit.

IMO he looks a lot like the older sketch, and less like the recent image.

The problem here is that sex workers from other states and cities will often drift to NYC without their family knowing.
If they were reported missing, they may have been "last seen" someplace else. As a result, any trans woman with an Asian background who went missing during that period is a possible match.

Another problem is that the victim's family will sometimes whitewash their past or be completely unaware about what they were up to. In other words, this missing person could be listed as a male and there might not be any reference to them working as a sex worker.
Just boosting this comment. This was my line of thinking as well.

Is it just me, or do those eyebrows look like an exact match?

I just want to pre-warn everyone that if asian does namus goes down in the coming days, its likely due to NamUs efforts to comply with the recent executive orders surrounding the refrencing of transgender people

Thanks! There’s not much to go on regarding his personal life but it’s certainly a possibility.

I never heard back but I’m sure someone must have looked into it. I bet this is the year Cherries and Asian Doe are finally identified.
