Yes I found the same thing. It's confusing. Unless maybe they had a section for housing, supported by the church, for people who needed it?Looking up that address it appears empty... I can't find when or if it ever was a property. But it does look like there is a YMCA or a church of some sort right nearby.

so I did a little digging and found 2 more buffalo addresses associated with her: 303 Bissell avenue unit U Buffalo, new york which according to the site I was doing research on she was said to be there october of 1998 which would mean she couldnt be peaches (tho i know certain sites are very unreliable with dates) and 272 schuele avenue also in Buffalo, dennek is listed as an occupant as well then there were 2 more people said to live there after her, the coit address is listed as her current address tho which is confusing AF but heres the link https://www.fastpeoplesearch.com/jeanette-watkins_id_G-1531298071824474634136 COIT ST, BUFFALO, NY 14206
I am guessing the house that was there was demolished. Looking at the lot, arial views, and spacing of housing in the neighborhood, there was once a home there. It appears there are many homes near and around that have been torn down. There are also people associated with the home at one point in time when you search the address, so at one point there was a house there. I don't want to pay to look at records, but it is possible there was a flop house or slumlord style house that eventually got torn down by the city or owner.
I agree! There was actually a flea market in West Hempstead called Shoppers Village that also sold those, and that is the same town as the park she was found. Either those bracelets are fake or 10k IMO. I had the xo one, mine was 10k but not as dark, but that doesn't mean anything. I noted that the vicap post, if real says two gold bracelets and the rest of the jewelry was called gold colored, so I think you are prob correct. These are two style bracelets that we used to sell at the Piercing Pagoda kiosk I worked at in 1992-1998. If identical, and they appear to be, they were made of 10k gold and were fairly popular items for us to sell. We would sometimes get returns of them similarly discolored if our customers tried to clean them with anything harsh like alcohol or peroxide so I'm not surprised that they sold also discolor in such a potentially wet and exposed environment. Jmo.
Hers was one of thousands of cases that were updated that day all over the country. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything different with her case as of nowI strongly believe shes been identified, and that LE wasn't ready for that info to be released, so they put her back in there.
From my understanding, Valerie and Karen were not removed from NamUs until after the announcement was made.
Bwtween law enforcement be working on protocol for this victims being in different counties, the fact that close family was identified a few years back, and now her namus going down. I think shes identified
That's interesting, could suggest that she's a local, unlike the other known victims who seem to have come from out of area.I agree! CORRECTION to the above, it's Alabama she's got links to, my bad. That's interesting, could suggest that she's a local, unlike the other known victims who seem to have come from out of area.
Of course, a lot of outlets probably stocked that item, but if it was bought there, it's very interesting. Especially as her kin have their roots in Georgia.

A small detail - her gold chains found with her don’t really look like gold to me - I guess it’s just gold colored?
Even if it’s been buried in dirt for 14 years, gold should handle that better.

I wonder too if Jamaica Avenue or Green Acres Mall would be a good place to look to? I remember back in the 90s my parents, older siblings and cousins would buy similar jewelry from some of the vendors there. These are two style bracelets that we used to sell at the Piercing Pagoda kiosk I worked at in 1992-1998. If identical, and they appear to be, they were made of 10k gold and were fairly popular items for us to sell. I just noticed your reply. so sorry! Yes, I think she was likely local for several reasons, but mostly because she had to be living somewhere and a land lord or family would def note if she and her child just vanished. IMO of course. That's interesting, could suggest that she's a local, unlike the other known victims who seem to have come from out of area.

With most Does, I'm content to not know their name or see their face, so long as LE and their families know.I just know this is solvable.
Kelly (El Dorado Jane Doe) had the same issue with genetic genealogy and her case was solved. And that was a pet case of mine, for ages. Killed and found immediately. Identifiable face, fingerprints, living photos including mugshots, killer was her partner... and yet it languished for years because no one amongst her very closely related blood relatives knew who she was. It felt so cruel to be so close for so long. And yet it was solved, when it seemed for years like genetic genealogy might have failed in her case.
Peaches will be identified. Her daughter will be identified.
With most Does, I'm content to not know their name or see their face, so long as LE and their families know.
But with Peaches and with St Louis Jane Doe, I really want to see their faces, hear their names. Their killers tried to erase them with their dismemberment, denied them reconstructions that might have revealed their identities. They deserve that to be reversed. Everyone should know their names and their faces.

Right across the street from shoppers village was a motel that people lived in and section 8 was using that motel at one time too. It was very very seedy, and I think it is a strong possibility that he met her there and that those sheets and towel may have come from there. I think it is gone now, but maybe we should look for some old info???
The Wamsutta thing is not able to be verified anywhere and that brand has NEVER been sold at Walmart like i hear some people state when sharing "facts". I do think there is a similar type posted on here from years ago, but I haven't come across anything that shows that they are a name brand
I m very very familiar with the area.....also, I get a bit confused when people say it was common for women to bring their children on dates...where are they getting that info from? I think it is morel likely that those certain motels that were known for prostitution and had women living there with their children, were more likely to have men in their rooms.
There were always women hanging out in the parking lot and there was a bus stop right there the N15, so I saw a lot of things going on at that place when I didn't have a car and took the bus every day.
You have me really thinking about that motel now, I haven't been able to find anything that can be verified about their kin in GA, just people saying they talked to someone but no one ever has any way to prove anything so I am keeping an open mind (I can't help being very picky, I'm sorry if it's annoying lol), but I also haven't been around as long as you and I see you are all about facts , so if you an direct me to better sources for that stuff, i WOULD BE FOREVER GRATEFUL
It may take a while, but i will look into that motel and share if I find anything that is able to be verified!!

I had the same exact two hospitals in mind!! Excellent points and ideas all around!I wonder too how helpful or feasible looking through old hospital records based on obstetrics and delivery that might indicate a patient match to Peaches’ delivery and Baby Doe’s birth?
If for example, Peaches was a local she might have gave birth to Baby Doe in a local hospital, like Nassau Communitt Hospital, Winthrop, Mercy and such? Perhaps it is possible she was listed as high-risk and may have been linked to a case-worker or social worker while admitted as well which could also have records?
Some of the things that could possibly help her medical or social work records stand out is her age, tattoo, background, history of sex work, address or information about child’s father that should have been or could have been noted in both sets of documentation.
Perhaps too a pediatrician or ER doctor may have created documentation that could link to or match Baby Doe, such as age, background, how the baby was dressed, mom’s age, prenatal care, mom’s background and such and last date that Baby Doe or mom’s followed up with their providers and if it or any missed appointments correlate to estimated time of death of both Peaches and her daughter? Same with social worker/case worker records for that area?
JMT not sure how feasible or if it would require interviewing staff and providers who may have already retired
Also, perhaps LE asked local grocery stores or small chained stores to see if they could track where Peaches may have also possibly bought baby food or formula for her daughter or if there was any indication that she was on birth control and then check local pharmacies from there?
This. The clock is ticking. It’s nearly 30 years, the time is now.I wonder too how helpful or feasible looking through old hospital records based on obstetrics and delivery that might indicate a patient match to Peaches’ delivery and Baby Doe’s birth?

l to r: 2 inch peach/heart tattoo on left breast; Rubbermaid container held torso of black female; floral pillowcase and red towel also found inside container

West side of Lakeside Drive, 200 yards north of Peninsula Boulevard, Hempstead Lake State Park. -- Black female torso. Arms, head, and legs below the knee severed, found in green Rubbermaid container, with red towel and floral pillow sham, 16-30 years old.
She had an abdominal scar from a cesarean section and a tattoo of a peach in the shape of a heart with a bite taken out of it and two drips falling from its core on her left breast.

"With no leads to the womans identity, the police published a picture of the approximately two-inch wide tattoo in a national tattoo magazine, in the hopes of finding the artist who did the work. They received a call from a man in Connecticut who claimed he remembered giving the tattoo to a woman.
The artist said he remembered the customer as a young black woman, about 18 or 19 years old, who was accompanied by two women, an aunt and a cousin. During the session, he also claimed she told him she was from either the Bronx or Long Island and that she was in Connecticut because having trouble with her boyfriend at the time. It is possible the woman had other tattoos on her arms or lower legs that the killer did not want found." (Doe Network)
'They call her Peaches,' Nassau County Medical Examiner Eric Smith says of his law enforcement colleagues, as he thumbs through photographs of unidentified bodies in the back room of the county morguesome battered, swollen faces, others clay reproductions with glass eyes.
