A number of terror suspects have been arrested in dramatic raids as police hunt for the bomb factory where the device used by Manchester terrorist Salman Abedi was made.

Bomb disposal experts were this evening called to an address in Wigan which was raided in connection with the atrocity, and homes surrounding it were evacuated.

Greater Manchester Police said 'potentially suspicious items' were found at the terraced house, which witnesses say was raided by armed officers at around 1.30am.

Residents described the area, close to Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, as being 'in lockdown' with helicopters overhead. Nurses arriving for their shifts were unable to get into work because the road was blocked.

A man was arrested yesterday afternoon in the town, but it is not known whether the address - 17 miles from the Manchester Arena - is directly linked to him. Witnesses on the scene say a bomb disposal robot was seen on the street, but a controlled explosion was not carried out.

I am in awe of the police force in Manchester. They hit the ground running and haven't stopped and are finding more and more possible terrorists. They certainly are to be commended for a job well done.

I do greatly worry about their own personal safety though since chemicals are dangerous themselves if breathed in and places could be booby trapped by now too.

I pray they all remain safe as they go about their work of rounding up those who wish to harm more innocent people.

I missed this somehow but was the mother of the suicide bomber still living in her home with him? If so, how could she not know about all of the bomb making materials inside of the home? The way its been stated it seems there was a vast amount of bomb making material found in his home.

Let me ask another question please for those living in this area.

Yesterday on several media sites they showed photos where the Libya community lives in Manchester. What i thought was odd is among many of these dwellings everyone had their drapes/blinds closed tight or had what looked to be some kind a tinfoil applied on all of the windows in the front blocking the view. The photos were taken during the day.

Is this is a normal thing to do? I guess why it strikes me as odd is we never keep our drapes closed during the daytime and none of our neighbors do it either. If the entire windows were sealed off from view all of the time that would be very depressing to me making everything feel so closed in and dark.

Does the Manchester police often patrol these areas?

they do things a bit differently in England because their laws are dissimilar when it comes to arrest/detainment

'You can be held without charge for up to 14 days If you’re arrested under the Terrorism Act.

The police can release you on police bail if there’s not enough evidence to charge you. You don’t have to pay to be released on police bail, but you’ll have to return to the station for further questioning when asked.'

"The final victim of the Manchester Arena terror attack has been named as 15-year-old Megan Hurley, a 'gentle and unassuming girl' who loved music and animals.

She had attended the concert with her older brother Brad, 20, who was seriously injured in the attack.

Terrorists do not wake up one day carry out their evil acts. It is planned for months or years. They are very determined and invested in their plans.

Police in England arrested a man Friday morning in connection to Monday's terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert that left 22 people dead, Greater Manchester Police announced.

There has been boiling hot weather in the last few days. Keeping your curtains closed would keep the heat out. People of Libyan descent would probably be more aware of that trick.

Yes, Australians do that when it is very hot.I mean close the house up. I have seen people put foil on the windows that the afternoon sun catches.

He may well have another account or an alias. I have doubt about his details because he was originally described as the second youngest and was supposed to be back in Libya with the mother and father and younger sister. Now the father said Salman is innocent. Perhaps Salman is the 20 year old brother in Libya and this is the next younger brother aged 22 who has taken the younger brother's identity. JMO.
