Err the truck hardly looked roadworthy with no front section/bonnet on it.
Edit- my mistake. Can see its machinery in fron tof it that makes it look that way at first glance.

Heres a better picture

Do we have any insight into why the lorry stopped in such a peculiar place? It's road position was half out of a junction IIRC?
No insight but I didn't think it was parked oddly. There is what looks like it could be a path to the front passenger side of the lorry. Imo he was off loading them either to be picked up or to wait in one of those outbuildings until the next part of their journey. I wonder if that was the designated drop off point for all people who had been smuggled previously. Would any of them be aware this was happening and have been there to pick up friends or relatives?

I don't think it was a road junction. It looked like he parked nearly opposite to an entrance.

A good aerial of the industrial park showing the lorry location.

Thanks, that shows what I meant. It does look like a road junction in cropped pictures, but it isn't.

Link to street view location - lorry parked where the car is.

Been looking at the accounts for C HUGHES LOGISTICS LTD. Its strange 3 years of accounts (including amended accounts for 2017) where filled simultaneously in Aug/Sep this year showing a sudden accumulation of assets.

Interesting and yes, possibly connected or they just zooming more at haulage businesses at the moment

Quote from the article:

Officers with the National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau intercepted a commercial haulage vehicle in Ballymascanlon, Dundalk.

Cannabis herb was found concealed within a legitimate load of fresh vegetables.

Two men (aged 47 and 42) from the UK and Northern Ireland were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking.

They are being detained at Dundalk Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

PS: someone will be getting home some interestingly smelling vegetables :)

Have they named the person who was arrested at Stansted Airport yet? I think they possibly first said the person was 48, then 46.

Not officially.
It's been said who it was, on social media though

Wow does he think the police are stupid??

So who phoned Ronan to let him know what had happened? Did Mo make a call to him after fainting (allegedly) and calling an ambulance?

From the link:

A source said: “Ronan Hughes made a telephone call to police in the UK from a mobile phone shortly after 2am last Wednesday.

“He said he needed to talk to someone about Mo Robinson and claimed Robinson was legit and had nothing to with anything illegal and knew nothing about the cargo.

Hughes confirmed he knew Robinson and pushed to get a number of questions answered. He gave his [own] date of birth and an address.

“We believe he was trying to establish how much and what information the police had at that time.

“He appeared willing to co-operate with police but he has not been contactable since."

I wonder if Ronan was the source of the 'my mate is 100% innocent' reporting in the media

Could well have done. Then threw his phone into the bushes next to the lorry.

Or perhaps the discarded phone was his burner phone, used to keep in contact with the others involved.

Does Ronan think the police were born yesterday?
