Covers them I suppose though doesn’t it for when they get caught... I’m not saying they knew people were in there

They would have gps if they are bosses. To track the movement of the people so they can keep an eye on it.

Then they are also covered because hey look we have gps we are innocent.

Thanks, I tried to find this but can’t see it.

I wouldn’t worry to much about what it says on SM. I’ve read three conflicting stories so I wouldn’t hold merit to any! :)

I agree, as you say a lot of conflicting stories but I am interested to find out the name of the person who was arrested at Stansted.

I am struggling uploading the links but on GTR’s website it has information re it’s GPS System on each trailer. Also links to ‘Blue tree tracking system’ these are nothing like SAT Nav tracking systems. It’s using fab technology which also lets the haulier know exactly where the trailer is at any time. Using pin point technology. Also allows haulier to monitor driver hours and fuel levels and consumption.
It is pretty fair to surmise that this technology made Hughes very aware of what was possibly going on. He also knew that once this information was handed over to the police it was only a matter of time that the knocks on the doors would arrive. There is reports that this trailer was one of two which Hughes hired from GTR. So I assume the police will also have this information for the other trailer too! It’s highly unlikely that Hughes did not know there was GPS, I think he used it too it’s full potential monitoring his drivers etc

Exactly this and i dont think it mattered in that, even if they got caught, they THOUGHT they had it alll covered. Except for the fact they clearly didnt think through the safety and welfare of the people they were transporting, so never factored in what would happen if they didnt make it alive.

Sadly it’s pretty safe to say that both traffickers and the ‘clandestine s’ don’t think about the safety either! A lot of the Calais migrants will avoid the fridge trailers because of the dangers. Sadly too others it’s any chance they will take. These gangs are motivated by the huge amounts of money involved. It was reported €5,000 I would bet it’s at least triple that! The fines alone if caught would be more than the reported €5,000! It’s about £1,400 per stowaway x 39 had they of lived

I agree this id my thoughts to . I reckon this is what gave them plenty if time to prepare and dispose of evidence.

Questions about these tracking systems have been asked before..

Where is the logging data kept? for how long? Who has access?

And in this particular case ... where was the trailer in the timeframe of interest?

It has been reported it went from GTR to Northern Ireland then down to Dublin, Across to Holyhead.. down to Dover

Then it gets quite vague

Then it appears in Zeebrugge

some 10 hours later in Purfleet
