It was EH who threw his phone away.
Yes, I know that, but sure I read the police found a phone Mo threw away nearby
There was an article that said police had found a white phone near where they arrested Mo, I’ll see if I can find it

Thanks, I can’t find it anywhere!

A lot of the speculation here seems to assume a single hierarchical structure with a controlling mastermind ... is it not more likely that this is a lot of independent cells .... which is why detection is so difficult.

Thêm thông tin về vụ 39 người chết trong xe tải

suggests that one of the victims left Vietnam on Oct 3 and flew to China. After a few days she went to France ... by means unknown .... but I would suspect a flight as she was in France for a few more days before attempting a crossing on Oct 19th ... unsuccessful.. and returned ... to France?

I find it interesting that the UK press are all over this ... with lots of speculation, some facts, and lots of opinion. Yet the French and Belgian papers seem to carry far less information, and that seems to be copied from the UK press.

Are there any mainland Europeans in websleuths? Why is there so little coverage of events preceding loading at Zeebrugge?

A lot of human trafficking happens around the world. People will do anything including risking their own life.

I wonder where the Vietnamese migrants were put into the truck.

...and whether it is just possible they got in of their own accord?

Im so interested as to what happened when the DVSA/VOSA chased them and it just so happened to be filmed by another driver who says they did not seem to want to stop.
Obviously they wont comment but it seems odd not to given the fact that this is a BIG case, involving many countries and much worse has been revealed makes me wonder if someone dropped the ball or was maybe paid off amd never thought in a million years this would come bk to bite them in the 🤬🤬🤬

Apparently all those DVSA vehicles are fitted with ANPR and sometimes companies have markers put on their vehicles. So the truck will get pulled for a check every time it passes a DVSA car as the ANPR will flash up.

They wont be able to comment on individual cases due to GDPR.

Lorry deaths: GPS data shows container visited trafficking hotspot

Data from GPS tracking of the refrigerated container seen by The Times shows that it had made a nearly identical trip the week before the victims were found inside it in the early hours of Wednesday last week. It is not known who was driving the truck on the first journey.

....

The data also appears to show that on its return the container stopped at D&J Exports, a transport yard.

....

Peter Hyams, the owner of D&J Exports, said: “We have no record of it being here. We’ve checked our CCTV but can’t see anything. We’d be happy to hand it to police but they’ve not visited us.”

Interesting ... is the GPS log itself now in the public domain?

V likely of their own accord. V likely they believed the traffickers who no doubt assured them it was tried, tested and safe

What is human trafficking? - Anti-Slavery International

Human trafficking involves recruitment, harbouring or transporting people into a situation of exploitation through the use of violence, deception or coercion and forced to work against their will.

In other words, trafficking is a process of enslaving people, coercing them into a situation with no way out, and exploiting them.

As charges for this offence have already been brought against people in this case, their activities must fall within this definition. How dreadful for the victims.

Still struggling with the route of the trailer ... the excellent post earlier from the Times .. still shows days where it is unaccounted for ...... no dates or times for the trips across the channel

It also showed visits to traveller scrap yards.
Were they picking something up or dropping it off?

Not familiar with haulage business, but I would have thought that there may be many pickups and dropoffs along the way ... some may even be totally kosher .. and some may be of a personal nature ?

Yes, you're right. The Times reported it.
It was found 300 metres away from the scene.

The crimes Mo Robinson is charged with speak to his intent. The crimes Eamon Harrison is charged with speak to his intent.

It literally does not matter whether those 39 human beings got into that lorry against their will or not. I'm guessing they went willingly. For those of you in the back of the room. It does not matter. They are dead. And people are being charged with manslaughter, money laundering, illegal smuggling, why? Because they performed criminal actions.

Mo Robinson and Eamon Harrison are charged with criminal acts.

I really wonder about this too. Seems like it would be relatively easy to investigate after the fact?! Ugh... sooo frustrating!

This allegedly happened before the tragedy in Essex unfolded.
Right but still seems odd that it wasn’t investigated.

Yeah its still connected somewhat. U would think it would be so much easier to say yes we investigated there was nothing dodgy to lead us to believe this would happen. Not no comment...move on nothing to see here!
