Rose was due to be sentenced today having been found guilty of manslaughter in October, but the hearing was adjourned.

Judge Mark Lucraft, KC, the Recorder of London, said that a hospital order may be sought for Rose, meaning she would avoid going to prison.

'It may be that, ultimately, some form of hospital order is the appropriate order.'

'I cannot and will not sentence today.'

The judge said that the relevant authorities were not treating the case with sufficient urgency.

'Up until now I do not get the sense that the case is being given the urgency that it requires.'

The case was re-listed for a mention on 25 November.

Am I the only one feeling outrage at this? They were left routinely for mother to go shopping! Their short lives just shocking neglect.
Those 4 beautiful lives wasted

Well it's not set in stone yet, but yes, I agree with you. Saying she needs help, not punishment. She was offered help. From the government and from family and she steadfastly refused every bit of it. And trying to introduce this totally made up babysitter/lover character "Jade" to shift the blame onto shows that she recognises that she is culpable for the deaths of these poor boys.

MOO

edited: because when I said "yes" I didn't mean "yes you're the only one" I meant "yes, I agree with you!" Clumsy typing on my part!

Exactly! Why have 4 babies then? Disgusting
Well I agree that this has not been given the urgency which it deserves. 3 years on and still no justice for the boys.
Has anyone seen the father mentioned anywhere…

A woman has been jailed for 10 years for the manslaughter of her four sons who died in a house fire while she was out shopping.

Deveca Rose, 30, had left her two sets of twins alone when a fire ripped through their terraced house in Sutton, south-west London, on 16 December 2021.

Four-year-olds Kyson and Bryson Hoath and Leyton and Logan Hoath, three, were unable to escape the locked house and died under a bed.

Rose was found guilty of four counts of manslaughter following a trial at the Old Bailey last autumn.
She was cleared of a single count of child cruelty.

Glad there was justice for the little ones.

Yes but If you divide the sentence by the number of precious lives lost it is absolutely not justice
IMO
