The body of a missing man was found in the River Trent after he disappeared earlier this year. The body of Adrian Karpinski, 34, from Clifton, was found on April 13 in the River Trent after weeks of him being missing.

Adrian was last seen at the Victoria Embankment, near the Wilford Toll Bridge on the banks of the River Trent, between West Bridgford and The Meadows, at around 6pm on Thursday, March 24. His sister, Marlena Karpinska, 39, had previously made an impassioned plea for him to come home as police carried out underwater searches for her sibling.

Ms Karpinska has now issued a message of thanks to those who had helped look for her brother. "I would like to say thank you to all the people who helped to search for him," Ms Karpinska said.

"I know the lady who found him had been on a dog walk. I worry and pray for her, as it must be difficult for her too.

"The biggest thing I would like to say again is thank you to everyone that had helped." She added: "My brother was a fantastic friend and a wonderful uncle and we will miss him very much.

"His sudden and unexplained death was a big shock for us". Ms Karpinska, who lived with her brother in Clifton, had previously spoke of how her brother was "very friendly" and "open".
