from the youtube videos of him with his top off a year ago he doesn't look broad or muscly...of course he could have changed since then but all this talk of him lifting weights doesn't mean he actually did serious weightlifting for any length of time....they keep saying he did parkour but I think he just liked jumping over walls and running around and liked to tell people he did parkour - but I don't think he did 'serious' parkour where people are jumping off buildings...we would have heard of this on Rothesay. I think he sometimes lifted weights and did some casual free running/parkour, but nothing serious.
The videos are almost 2 years old, i 100% agree he's very small and skinny. But like you say he could have changed, especially in the 16 months between the videos and the crime. As i said this image is only in my mind based on what witnesses have confirmed in court.

So sorry firstly if I have timings wrong but I thought the grandmother raised the alarm re missing alesha around 06.25. So if I read that correctly within 4 mins Toni was attempting to phone the accused ...
This could be legitimately explained as the fact she saw she had missed a call from him and wondered if it was because he had some news regarding Alesha’s whereabouts. When a child has disappeared from her bed, I suppose it would be natural to explore all avenues as quickly as possible.

There has been no mention of the car which was seized last july? I wonder what the reason for seizing it was

True but I personally find it strange that the first thing she went for was her phone and returning calls. I would have thought she would have been frantically searching for alesha within and around surrounding area of flat So imo within 4 minutes of alarm being raised is very quick to start checking your phone

The cars were taken from the grandparents' house. I assume this means no blood or any other evidence incriminating the family was found

Regarding the palm print on stair but no other prints anywhere within flat. Could maybe alesha have woken and he actually met her on the stairs and panicked

Police procedure I believe

Are we going to hear about DNA via the semen found at the crime scene?

Maybe, but she is only 18 years old and not the child’s mother. She probably left the father and grandparents to check whilst she automatically reached for her phone to check for updates, or message friends. The instinct of a teenage gf of Alesha’s dad is not necessarily going to be on a par with a mother, father or grandparent’s reaction. I’m not sure how I would have reacted at 18, but I suspect a lot of 18 year olds reach for their phones as a crutch/instinct and 4 mins in, she may have even been thinking the little girl was hiding somewhere. You raise an interesting point though and I think the defence will use this.

Apparently the 'chair rail' where the print was found is in fact from a chair rail for a (disability) chair lift, not a wooden (traditional type) chair rail.

Very much agree

R.E Instagram

I think part of the defence is possibly going to be that TMc and the accused communicated on IG which is why the focus.

This is the exact line of questioning that the defence lawyer Brian McConnachie QC took when TM was on the stand. Specifically, that they communicated via Instagram in the early hours of July 2nd.

The expert today has stated that deleted conversations and contacts on Instagram aren't retrievable.

A stair lift? Is there a link for this info please?

Yes, good point. But there were four of them to search the flat, which is not huge. So I dont think its too unreasonable for her to quickly check her phone, while the others are searching the house, to see if the message related to Alesha.

"Witness Karen MacBride, a fingerprint examiner with the Scottish Police Authority, told the court that fingerprints belonging to the accused had been found on the MacPhail property - but it was not possible to date them.

She took fingerprints from the stairwell leading to the MacPhail family home, where prints from the accused's right palm were discovered on July 11, above stairs 11 and 14.

Asked when they were there from, she said: 'It's not possible to age a fingerprint.'

Under cross examination by defence Brian McConnachie, she confirmed the prints were found on a 'chair rail' for a chair lift."

Connor Gillies - Twitter

Defence raises concern about length of the day the 16 year old is enduring. He is woken up at 6.30am and doesn’t get back to prison until 8.30pm due to issues with transport arrangements.

POOR BOY!!!!

I am really curious as to what the reply was to this ridiculous “concern”. I’m sure Alesha’s family are having to endure far worse during this trial than the accused being tired after a long day.

Where do you know this from please? That was my first assumption too (because I'd never actually heard of the architectural type of chair rail until I googled). But I found nothing from the case that confirmed what it was.

ETA: Sorry, posted this before is saw mrazda's question. Thank you for the link posted in reply.

I was expecting the semen at the scene to be discussed today with the forensics
