I have seen spermicide being mentioned. Most condoms in the UK do not contain spermicide.

Yes. I wondered about this a few days ago and added to my colourful search history looking into it. While I'm sure condoms did have spermicide back in my youth, the majority don't now.

Yes, I had watched 2 videos I found when the murder happened but none where he spoke. In one I watched there was no audio at all. In another parkour one only laughing and some shouting (maybe not by him even) that was indistinct. I have just found one now that has him speaking while trampolining and watched it. I don't think he seems well spoken for what that is worth though. Just a normal Scottish lad. Do others think he sounds well spoken? Perhaps I am not good at judging the west coast accent as I don't hear it normally? I don't really believe our accents don't have much to indicate regarding criminality either way of course.

Yes, I think it was more common before.

Hi Angeldust - have put some answers in purple, hope it helps

Wonder if any of you can help with a few things please. Does anyone actually know where the accused lives in relation to were Alesha went missing? Not asking for anything to be revealed but maybe clear some of my confusion.

We cant comment on that on this public thread - although I can add his mother said it was about 7 minutes distance

Accused left house at 1.54am apparently takes around 7 minutes to walk from his to Alesha house if whats been posted here is correct. so we assume 2.01 am arrival time . A comment just made by someone stating where the cctv was taken is near a pub so its nearer the crime scene than her home correct ?

Its about mid way between the two

that was around 2.25/27 it must have took a good ten minutes carrying a child on a rocky shoreline with an incoming tide but low enough at points to be hardly noticeable. So 2.15 he has her that cuts down the wait time to around 15 minutes to take her.

I agree

Does this mean his house is much nearer the crime scene ? might account for the quick in and out trips between 3.35 and 4.05

Not allowed to discuss that on here

Where the clothes are concerned was the hoody not found on the beach covered in seaweed the police picked it up and lobbed it in a skip but it would have been contaminated anyway I do hope it had a stray hair but doubt it.

Someone also pointed out about condom and spermicide great catch ) I often think people like me think forensics are like csi and its not and simple things like this are sometimes overlooked but could be hugely beneficial. I do hope they have thought of this.

nt sure what any of this means but would clear some of this up for me .

Im also pretty sure his sister is nothing to do with anything she probably came back with his friend at 12,30

she left their house at 12.30am with his friends

because he used her phone to fb call

we dont know that, he could have logged into her FB account from his phone

so she was probably home when he left an hour and a half after telling his pal he was sad angry suicidal and wanted to harm himself

They possibly meant he wasn't talking using slang language.

"It is alleged he went to another house in Ardbeg Road before disposing of the clothes he had worn and then taking a shower to remove blood from his body." BBC

Spermicidal condoms all over Amazon UK and other websites in the UK still. But take your point re other brands. I need to keep up with the times :)

Pretty sure (though willing to accept correction from a condom expert) that condoms are lubricated with ... lubricant ... of some variety which, IF Accused were telling the truth* would be picked up by forensics.

*He's not

Yep, you can still purchase them, but not that common in shops or toilets. Known for side-effects and other issues.

Yep, they have a coating on them, there is actually quite a lot of material in a condom, but how much is inside one I am not sure. The semen from inside a used condom might be clear of anything condom-related.

Taskforce ;) are you nominating yourself as Websleuth official condom expert?

I think I could make you a lovely badge?

Thank you Alyce clears some of that up so the area she was found must be further away than I think :/

I’m anxious about this case. On the one hand the accused seems banged to rights...on the other hand, it’s very odd. Timings, various other things don’t add up...

My calculations were aleshas home 7 mins from McL cctv site and the crime site another 7 mins from McL cctv site. So 14 min walk approx from abduction site to where alesha was found.
Might be a quicker walk back if he didn't go on the shore front.

The timings absolutely do add up

Hi, not sure if you've seen this map, it was on the first thread, so I've copied it over
