I would have thought if they had evidence against her she would already had been charged

But they didn’t know that she could be involved as we don’t know when special defence was shared...

That is me answering your comment not saying either way she was or wasn’t involved xx

Hope the jury won't take too long, this is consuming my life, I'm constantly refreshing WS & Twitter pages

That’s good.. I was just writing a post to say sorry if I offended you

Was trying to help keep it all civil and remember why we are all here which in this instance is justice for this sweet child whoever the perp xx

It's cool :) I don't get offended lol, but I spied a few disruptive elements trying to get a rise and derail things.

Me too. I'm having to charge my phone 3 times a day at this rate.

The journalist at the trial probably aren't tweeting because, like us, they are sat on pins just waiting ...

The journalists aren't tweeting chat about the weather or arguing amongst themselves.

They are just quietly waiting.

Perhaps we could try and do the same?

Oh, I hadn’t realised you had only joined a day or so ago? Sure I read some great invested posts from you over the last week and half. I must have you confused with someone else.

You are correct. I first posted on this case when it began back in July, posting about certain places I was familiar with. I only rejoined the discussion when it came to trial.

I've not added much today either, well not in terms of the case.

Yeah I know

2 points though

1. I would have thought when the investigation first started they would have checked dna for everyone close to Alesha as these types of crimes are usually committed by family or someone who knows the victim. If they had evidence against her I think she would have been a suspect from the get go.

2. If the special defence was brought late in the day it would be too late to gather more evidence

Yes I agree they probably are, and I don't expect them to be tweeting through the deliberation with mundane chat just to be clear! I can't see Frazer Knight's previous tweets which was mostly why I was asking if anything had happened.

A special defence can be lodged anywhere up to 10 days before a trial commences, this again has been discussed previously o_O

I suspect this was the case here. IMO

In answer to question 1 I agree that I think it would be standard procedure.

Would it depend on what was found and where and then the interpretation of that.. if they already had a non family male suspect would they then discount the other dna as she resides with those individuals?

If this goes to a not guilty or not proven what happens next ? Will the police look over things again ? Will they have a closer look at tm due to what the accused has said ( if they didn’t know of his accusations until day 1 of trial of course) or will that be it , all over and done with and no justice for alesha

This was in regards to the evidence collection and whether or not if any evidence from TM would be discounted...

Sorry if you feel like we are discussing things you already have

I genuinely believe if the police suspected TM of any involvement she would also have been arrested and charged IMO.

Edit to add: I guess they would as part of that initial process so deleted my question xx

TM was never a POI and I would hope if police suspected anything they would have gone further. I doubt the special defence against her will change their position.
