Okay this is making me kind of sad. I just watched a couple of his vlogs and he seems like a normal 12-13 year old kid. He seems happy and lively. Just talking about his holidays and his gaming hobbies. The fact he went from that to a child rapist and murderer in a matter of a couple of years is just horrifying.

He does look a regular, respectable young lad...but let’s remember this has been a gradual slope. Daily mail reporting two previous cases, one where he tried to drown a six year old in a swimming pool and one of a sexual assault against a teen where he shared images.

Well he better hope for medical hospital now as there’s no way he’s safe in any jail now his name and image are out there. I do fear for his safety.

Also let’s have some praise for lord Matthews. Judges don’t tend to get things and they get a lot of criticism in uk for being out of touch. His handling of this case has been exceptional

I'm watching another one of his videos and he says "If YouTube stays popular for a long time, in 8 years I'll be twenty and should have a decent amount of subscribers, just thinking ahead of time." that's crazy. He's only 16 and already behind bars. What a waste of life.

That could be any single one of us child as drastic as that sounds.

Of course my ultimate sympathy is with Aleshas family but his family have my sympathy too.

His parents were probably not perfect but then again most parents are not perfect.

I think the saying 'there but for the grace of God is appropriate'.

If I was his mum I'd be mourning the loss of the child I'd hoped he would be and despairing that he turned into a total monster.

One part I hate, about the media coverage - and it happens in all murder trials - is how we now see a picture of the murderer alongside the victim - always seems wrong to me
