The Crown Office has released CCTV, shown in court, from the home of Aaron Campbell on the Isle of Bute.

This is chilling.

The Defence lawyer wasn’t exaggerating when he said about him ‘sauntering’ back the first time. He literally does saunter. Like not a care in the world.

Also, it was actually pretty light outside at the time.

I'm struck by the difference in standard of living between the 2 families.

Yep. I assumed that he took Gortans Road and not the main road, so he wasn't obviously spotted. I believe he was returning to the crime scene in those quick trips.
Yes I thought that . Where is he coming from at the beginning of the CCTV? Does he cross the rd

I thought that too. Possibly coming back from the shorefront after dumping stuff. That puts the time of death earlier than I thought, but probably not by much.

I've had one online friend for years who lives in Scotland. Her son is clearly disturbed. She is not mentally well herself and desperately needs help. Everyone knows this. She has basically done nothing but try and get help for him for years with little to show for it.

Most out of control and mentally ill children don't turn around and rape and kill someone. And authorities act in that manner. They take the easy and especially cheaper route in most countries. Dump as much as possible on the parents and go out of their way to avoid offering the care the law will even say they are required to offer. It takes smart, educated, dedicated parents to fight to access what kids like this need and even then they don't always get it.

Very true BUT there's a huge difference between, for example A child/teen with mental health issues and a child who is suspected of Psychpathy or is inflicting violence or sexual abuse on animals or people.

I think that would be red flags a plenty and not just getting a referral to CASMHS.

I'm amazed he decided to carry the child that distance from her home ...so strange

Yes why was he even using a torch? Are we getting a true impression of the lighting conditions on that cctv?

He's coming from the shore direction - which puzzles me as I thought his mother said he came in over the back wall at 3.35am ? which would be from the direction of the crime scene/Gortans Road

I was thinking the same thing about the torch and the lighting. Maybe it just looks lightened because of the CCTV.

Possibly needed it for a detailed look at something?

I wondered if it had been lightened for clarity. I do remember posting up the time of first light, which was about 3.40am I think on that day, but one of our local folk said it really would not have been light at that time ?

He is initially seen coming up this lane:

It seems somewhat accurate lighting condition for the time of morning and time of year (which I did say before it would be light but was disagreed with by a few people). I'm thinking did he need the torch to search in a place that would be darker, like undergrowth in the woods for his phone? Does the timeline line fit with him finding the phone near Alesha and getting back again?

Unless I am completely mistaken, the camera round the back of the house is in night vision mode and the one overseeing the front is not (given shades of colour or am I imagining that?)

Timewise it's about 7 minutes down to the shelter on the shore road ( Marine Place ) and then I estimated another 7 minutes up to the steps and the woods. But the police woman who did the walk from the shelter to the steps/woods said 3 -4 minutes
If he was running, moving fast, he could have done the whole trip in 10 or less.
And taking a victim to a place familiar to the murderer, often happens.

Maybe it only looks light because of night vision mode on the cctv.

Yes it fits easily

New member. I’ve been silently following this trial for the last week but what has come out today has compelled me to make a comment.

I cannot get this case out of my mind. I’m a survivor of CSA and cannot stop thinking about Alesha and what happened to her. The absolute brutality. To inflict such pain on a tiny child.
I’m a teacher and cannot grasp his youth. 16 is just a baby! They may look like adults but their minds are so immature and changing everyday.

From what I have seen of AC, he had every advantage in life - middle class, gorgeous house, bmx bikes, trampolines, every form of gaming and computer equipment, friends, interest from girls, good grades, stable family life, and yes it had to be said - handsome, obviously strong and with excellent health. Everything a child could want. And yet that wasn’t enough to content him. It makes my blood boil. I know so many children who have so little and are so grateful for that alone. Look at little Alesha. No doubt surrounded by love but also some instability and much less material wealth. He snuffed our her life like he was swatting a fly.

The horrific lies he has told, dragging Alesha’s family through the mud and not even allowing them the truth of what happened. They are going to be left with a lifetime of wondering how their little girl came to be with this sadist.

Sorry if this is just a rant and I’m not contributing anything useful. I just had to get if off my chest and no one close to me will talk about it for obvious reasons. I just hope it will start a dialogue about the profile of a sexual predator - how it can be anyone, but more than that how if a child will come to harm it will be to someone known to them. I don’t believe for a moment AC did not know of Alesha.

Do we have anyone who could note the other pertinent areas on the map from the Sun?NINTCHDBPICT000470809529.jpg
