It's the same story rehashed with a couple of tweaks, doesn't even need to have been a source at all,it's common knowledge that Chris Campbell did a bunk early on and left his wife to pick up the pieces, and it doesnt take a genius to work out that anyone visiting AC in polmont is going to be a target of abuse at the very least,so its easy to assume his mother would be scared of reprisals. So they can print that, pretend they have a source to cover their backs and away they go!
Nobody knows why JC hasn't visited her son,she may be scared, she may be disgusted, she may be a lot of things, but she may just need space and time to try and process everything that has happened. This woman has lost her entire life, her son is a brutal rapist and murderer and very possibly a dangerous psychopath, but he is her son and she can't change that, her marriage in is tatters, she is alone. Her home will never feel the same again, her friends may never look at her the same way,and she will always be wondering who is blaming her, second guessing if people she has known for years, has shared memories with, are looking at her or talking about her.All this to cope with whilst trying to get some kind of normality back for her daughter.
I wish the press would remember that they are human and leave this poor woman be![/QUOTE
We've got Jessica Ridgeway's murderer. He did attempt to kidnap a woman right before he kidnapped, actually assaulted and dismembered 10 year old Jessica but no prior criminal behavior otherwise. He was thought of as sweet and very smart by friends and neighbors. He was sentenced to life in prison.
Then there was little 6 year old Jenise Wright. Her 17 year old rapist and murderer was an athlete and well liked. He had zero criminal record. He was sentenced to a minimum of 40 years.
Six year old Alanna Gallagher's rapist and murderer had an extensive history of petty crimes and bullying. Antisocial behavior. He got life in prison.
I don't know about Scottish or British cases in general.
Harsher legal system? It’s full of plea bargaining and decades of death row backlog.
Sorry Hun, my quoting is all over the place tonight
