McConnachie tells the court how Campbell will be 43 before he could be released. He argues: “The transition from youth to a middle aged man is an extraordinary long period of time that doesn’t allow for the process of maturation and the process of healthy adult development”.

"Showing no emotion as he stares into the camera" I'm not really sure what they would expect him to be doing to be fair, not wanting to sound like I'm advocating for him at all and this is just a blanket statement, but he would be wrong whatever his face was portraying in this case!

It's a bit of a stretch to compare the two isnt it? Sounds like they couldnt find any examples that included murder
That's what i thought. Different crimes. Suppose that was all they could come up with. Adam McCormick was successful too. He must be out by now

Yeah they’re struggling, they obviously didn’t want to mention luke Mitchell’s case as he got his appeal declined 3 times . His is the only case that can resemble Aaron’s to a degree anyway !

McConnachie says the punishment part "needs to be fair and proportionate".

He is now drawing comparisons between Campbell's case & others where the sentences were less.

He continues; "The reports are negative & rightly so but they are simply a snapshot."

"To wait till he is 43 years of age, until he is a middle aged man, is an exordinarily lengthy period of time."

McConnachie says obviously "it was an appalling and heinous crime".

He continues; "..the punishment part of his sentence, due to his age, is excessive and amounts to a miscarriage of justice.."

McConnachie says "..if the term is maintained he will be 43 years of age..one does not know if after a shorter period of time.." he could have changed.

"The fact of the matter is, if nothing changes as time goes on, the parole board will have no basis to release him on anyway".
