How long is this trial on for does anyone know off the top of their head? Sorry I’m being lazy.

At the pre-trial hearing they said it was expected to last a fortnight.

Although I guess that could change!

I think mental issues are a given. How they manifested to this extent in him - drugs, upbringing etc. I doubt we’ll ever really know for certain without seeing his psych evaluation.

I doubt that the outcome of this case will ever give the family the help or even future cases help that is truly needed for them to exist, how in hell can you as a mother or father go on from here, pick up the pieces, as it appears that society seems to cater more for the villain. Excuses, it was it is, etc etc he will be helped he will attend, he will have access and continue a life fed and watered daily, access to a clean bed and shower fed, warmth....

More details of 'Snapchat video'
During the first ‘friend’s’ evidence, the court heard the Snapchat group had around 25 members.

The girl found out about Alesha’s disappearance at around 9am on July 2 when she was told by her mum.

She said the accused was “saying what he thought happened and was questioning how she could’ve got out the house”.

She told advocate depute Iain McSporran QC that the Snapchat video showed him “”going into his bathroom and filming a video of his body”.

She claimed he was clothed and aiming the camera “into the mirror” and showing only his “top half”, reflected on the bathroom mirror.

After the video was sent, the girl said the boy sent the “found the guy who’s done it” message.

She later reported the video to police, and added: “We knew Alesha had been taken.”

The teen described the accused as a ‘close friend’ but said she never socialised with him alone..

Police threw black Nike hoodie in skip thinking it was irrelevant to Alesha case

Ok but it comes across to me that mother hasn’t got a handle on how to handle him, so he had free will so you can’t have it both ways, the man then the kid who has a drunken mother.

I honestly can't believe what I'm reading, talk about gross incompetence. We've just found clothing discarded after a murder what should we do? Throw it in the bin obviously!
The evidence was put there by the accused not the police.

A third 16 year old witness has been called. This time a boy. The friend of the accused says on the night Alesha disappeared, he found him lying on his bed crying. He asked what was wrong & he claims the accused says he was "having family problems"

The black hoody found on the beach was then discarded in the police skip. Turns out the accused never threw it in the skip. It was the police as they thought it was irrelevant to the case then realised their mistake and fished it back out. Full explanation in the pages prev to this. Unbeliveable I know

The Police placed it there. Sergeant gave evidence to this effect

Witness thought it was a “joke” as the accused had a “dark sense of humour”.
