Sir Mick Jagger's family is at the centre of a desperate search for his granddaughter Assisi Jackson's long-term partner, who has gone missing in Cornwall.

Alexander Key, a 37-year-old chef, who has two children with Assisi, 33, was last seen in Boscastle last Friday afternoon.

He was reported missing to Devon and Cornwall Police on Saturday evening, prompting an urgent public appeal.

This morning, Assisi's mother, jewellery designer Jade Jagger, 54, took to social media to share the police appeal with her followers, posting images of Alexander.

Sorry that should be 2026 not 2025!

''The chef was last seen at 2.20pm on Friday in a local Boscastle pub. Devon and Cornwall Police said he was reported missing on Saturday evening and that officers were "growing increasingly concerned" for his welfare.

Ms Jackson's mother, Jade Jagger, 54, shared the police appeal on social media on Monday morning, including the CCTV image provided by police of Mr Key. He is described by police as being of medium build with distinctive bright peroxide blonde hair and is normally seen wearing bright-coloured clothing.''

''The couple live in Cornwall, where they are raising their two young daughters, Ezra, 11, and Romy, six. Mr Key owns The Rocket Store, a popular seafood bar and restaurant in Boscastle, alongside chef Freddie Woodruff.''

''Alex: I grew up in Boscastle – we have a farm just outside the village… and I managed to convince Fred that Boscastle was a viable option! It’s a beautiful village and there is a lovely community here.'

''UJ: Anything else not to miss in Boscastle?

Alex: Post lunch, a walk in the harbour followed by a swim. The perfect afternoon!''

Devon & Cornwall Police turned off the comments on their Facebook appeal yesterday (Sunday 25 Jan) "due to a small number of incredibly ill-judged and unwanted comments". I'd been following Alex's case there, but didn't see any such comments.

I wonder if Alex was anywhere near the sea. I've seen some footage of pretty spectacular waves in Torquay the day after he was last seen.

Boscastle is a sea harbour. You can walk up to high points overlooking the sea within minutes, been there many times. Very beautiful and can be wild as it’s the Atlantic Ocean, I imagine the recent weather has been quite dramatic.

The water can definitely get wild in Boscastle - the 2004 flood being the most obvious example

So from the photos, he was a patron at the pub, not working. I understand he is partner in a restaurant in Boscastle so I wasn’t sure if he had been working before he went missing.

it would be helpful to know how he got to the pub and how he typically travelled between home and places he went. I live about an hour away and we go to Bocastle semi-frequently. It’s not really somewhere easy to access without a car. There is a bus service that connects Bude and Wadebridge, but it’s only every 2-3 hours.

Would be have attempted to walk somewhere? The coast path there is quite steep and rugged. It gives me the heebie jeebies walking up and out of the harbour along the beach because I’m afraid of heights. The roads leading in/out are also narrow and steep in places, but I cannot imagine he could have been hit and not noticed. It’s not that isolated.

My concern is the cliffs really, risk of accident or self-harm, especially in Friday’s poor weather. It’s a rugged part of North Cornwall. MOO

He looks disengaged in that one screenshot of the pub cctv. The man next to him has his shoulder turned and looks to be having a convo with others. I wonder, if he wasn’t captured elsewhere on camera (so far anyway) if he did take the cliff path. I believe I’m right in saying there’s just one road in and out to the village and foot/boat are the only options in the other direction.

This is Boscastle. (This is actually a painting in my bedroom, artist Sam Burden for reference.)

This cctv capture seems to be taken at the entry of the Spar shop, with the wall and Lottery sign behind him, just opposite the Cobweb Inn

Looking at the map below, I'd say there was more than one road in and out of the village. Even so, you would expect him to have been caught on CCTV at some point if he had stayed on a road. I can see at least 6 footpaths which leave the village - the ones immediately north and south of the harbour entrance may not be well covered by CCTV, unfortunately.

In an updated appeal, Devon and Cornwall Police "have released new images in the search for a 37-year-old man who was reported missing from the Boscastle area.

Previously it was believed that Alexander Key was last seen at 2.20pm on Friday 23 January in the local pub but the latest CCTV images show him at 3.25pm on Saturday 24 January, walking past the Wellington Pub, on Old Road, in the direction of Boscastle Harbour towards the River Valency.

The new image shows him still wearing a distinctive red shirt, but he is also wearing a blue anorak/waterproof and black trainers".

Thank you.

He could've been heading to The Rocket Store?

The arrow should be visible now. I think the reply that @elliefant has just posted shows it better than I could explain it. The "water" under the bridge is really just a stream. Around 250m to the west of the bridge is the harbour and the open sea.

So he had a change of trousers, shoes and a coat with him, but wasn't carrying a bag on Friday, so it looks like it was either in a vehicle or left somewhere, an accommodation other than his home. Since he's walking and they haven't put out an appeal for a vehicle sighting my guess is it is the latter. His restaurant or a hotel/B&B? I'm also guessing since his family didn't see him overnight there is something going on in his personal life. MOO
