Dmitrijeva’s remains were uncovered on the Sandringham royal estate, a site used regularly for pheasant and partridge shoots by members of the British royal family.

Head of the investigation team, Det Ch Insp Jes Fry, told reporters that police wanted to “identify people who may have worked in that area or were involved in organising or running any specific events that may have taken place”, particularly during the end of August to end of September time period.

Two men have already been interviewed as part of the investigation into Ms Dmitrijeva's disappearance, he said.

They were seen picking up the teenager in a P-registered green Lexus in the early hours of August 31. This is thought to be the last confirmed sighting of her.

The men – described as acquaintances of the deceased – told officers they dropped Ms Dmitrijeva off at Asda in Wisbech.

"The man leading the inquiry, Det Chief Insp Jes Fry, says he is pleased with the response to the appeal so far but they still want to know more about her movements on the last day of August.

Alisa was last seen getting into a green Lexus with two men in Friars Street, Lynn, just after midnight on August 31. They told police they later dropped her off at Asda in Wisbech.

Police have also received a further sighting of Alisa in Lynn 45 minutes after Friars Street.

Police will not say if the men in the Lexus have been re-interviewed".

"The inquiry is trying to build up a picture of Alisa’s movements prior to her disappearance on August 31.

Police are appealing for sightings of Alisa between noon on August 30 and midnight on September 6.

The posters contain Latvian, Lithuanian and Russian translations of the appeal.

Det Chief Insp Fry said: “We are continuing to appeal to the public – we have taken steps to reach the Lithuanian and Latvian communities through posters, websites, already established local contacts and local officers and would continue to encourage people from those communities to engage with us.”

DETECTIVES working to find Alisa Dmitrijeva’s killer have appealed for help to trace her mobile phone.

Det Chief Insp Jes Fry, who is leading the investigation, revealed this week that the phone had not yet been recovered.

The teenager was using an LG GM360 handset, as shown.

Police say the phone is important to the investigation as it would hold vital contacts.

Speaking on Monday, Det Chief Insp Fry said: “We would like to recover the telephone as it will have contacts with people that may have information important to the inquiry.”

"Alisa was described as a beautiful girl who was much loved by her family and worked hard and enjoyed the party life.

She was born in Latvia in May 1994 and moved to this country when she was 15.

Alisa had attended the Thomas Clarkson Community College in Wisbech and was due to enrol as a student at the College of West Anglia’s Lynn campus at about the time of her disapperance. She had previously studied at the Wisbech college.

She had been hoping to become a beautician before she was killed.

Police have said she was a typical young woman with an interest in make-up and fashions.

She enjoyed swimming outside and visited Bawsey Pits, near Lynn.

Scores of people have poured out their grief on two tribute pages, RIP Alisa Dmitrijeva and State Funeral for Alisa Dmitrijeva, which have been set up in the days since her body was identified."

"Det Ch Insp Jes Fry, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are very encouraged by the 70 calls and messages we have received since we identified Alisa. These are being followed up by a team of officers making ongoing inquiries into Alisa's disappearance and death.

"I would still ask the local communities in Wisbech and King's Lynn to think back to the August bank holiday and following week in September last year, and to get in touch if they have any information about Alisa's whereabouts during this time.

"We particularly want to hear from members of the Latvian, Lithuanian and Russian communities who may have known Alisa."

The body of 17-year-old Alisa lay hidden for months in isolated woodland on the Sandringham estate before being discovered by a dog walker on New Year’s Day.

Alisa, of Wisbech, was last seen getting into a green Lexus in Friars Street, Lynn, just after midnight on August 31. Police have since received a later sighting of her in the town 45 minutes later.

Now officers have learned that she was likely to have spent time at Snettisham beach car park during the early hours of August 31.

Officers are looking for her mobile phone, a black LG GM360, and other objects around the car park today."

He appealed directly to members of the Latvian, Lithuanian and Russian communities to come forward."

"A student who was murdered and dumped on the Queen’s Sandringham estate could have been killed by a fellow reveller at a beach party she attended shortly before she died, police believe."

"There is no sign that she had been sexually assaulted.

Norfolk Police also said that the Queen had been asked to be kept up to date with the inquiry.

Detective Chief Inspector Jes Fry said: "The feedback I have had is that the Queen has taken an active interest in what is going on and has been contacted to be updated with the progress of the inquiry.

"It would appear that she was sad to hear of the death of a young person in these circumstances."

The Cause of death is not yet known and yesterday officers were searching the beach"

Det Chief Insp Jes Fry says that initial tests have not revealed the presence of any common drugs in Alisa’s body, which lay hidden for months in an isolated copse on the Royal Sandringham estate.

He has spoken after national press reports claimed Alisa was a “drug addicted wild child” who owed £15,000.

Det Chief Insp Fry said that further tests are being carried out and is asking people not to lose sight that a teenager had been murdered.

Alisa was found on New Year’s Day by a dog walker in the woodland off King’s Avenue, which runs between Sandringham and Anmer, four months after she disappeared.

Det Chief Insp Fry said: “Initial toxicology results do not indicate the presence of any common drugs of abuse in the body of Alisa Dmitrijeva. Further testing will be carried out.

“I am keen that the suggestion that Alisa was involved in taking controlled drugs should not colour the willingness of people to engage with my staff.

“Enquiries are continuing to build up the victimology in relation to Alisa, and I would ask that people do not lose sight of the fact that a young girl has lost her life.

“Her family are devastated and I would encourage anyone with information to contact us, even anonymously.”

I am starting to wonder if the body was left at the Queen's estate to send a very public message.....

"I thought it would be helpful to establish once and for all the crimes committed in the town following the Daily Mail’s sensational story describing Wisbech’s ‘Baltic Mafia’, drug dealers, widespread drunken and anti-social behaviour, local people afraid to go out, and the murder of Latvian Alisa Dmitrijeva".

"“Each crime would also need to be reviewed to ascertain the number of crimes committed by Eastern Europeans and also for any crimes appertaining to Wisbech.”

Varied opinion concerning crime in " Wisbech ....
http://www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk/2012/news/weekly-defends-town-tarnished-by-drugs-slur/
"A local newspaper is ‘fighting back’ in support of its town following an article in a national newspaper which claimed the area was being taken over by Eastern European drug gangs.

Following the murder of Latvian teenager Alisa Dmitrijeva, who was found dead last month on the Queen’s Sandringham estate, the Daily Mail published a report about Wisbech, where she had been living before her death.

It included the paragraph: “These gangs are taking over the English Fenland towns, terrifying local residents and ensnaring teenage girls such as Alisa.”

"19 January 2012 Last updated at 09:44 ET Help Police are investigating a spate of attacks on predominantly eastern European men at Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, where migrants make up a third of the population.

It is not clear who is behind the attacks, but the BBC has been told there has been conflict between Lithuanians and Latvians as well as evidence of disputes between some local people and the new arrivals".

"Murder police hail ‘significant breakthrough’ in hunt for killer of Wisbech student Alisa Dmitrijeva, whose body was found on the Royal Estate at Sandringham"

Chris Bishop Thursday, March 15, 2012
1:55 PM

"Early results from the forensic palynologist - a scientist who specialises in identifying pollen and spores - has indicated that there is a very rare composition of spores from fungi at the site where Alisa’s body was found.

Det Chief Insp Jes Fry, who is leading the 30-strong team working on the enquiry, said: “Work is currently being carried out on soil and debris samples found in the car to identify the pollen and spores in them. “These will then be compared with the results from the samples taken at Anmer. This may take several weeks to analyse and if a link is identified, it could be a significant step forward in the enquiry. ”
