Connor Niven, 19 charged with murdering his sister, Amber Niven, 16.

I found Connor’s FB profile and he had been sharing Police posts and tributes to Amber up until his arrest saying things such as ‘we will all miss you…especially me’ ‘fly high’ etc. Horrendous. IMO.

On her ig she posted photos of her in p1 and a brother in p3. (Scottish school year groups) so that was possibly him considering the age difference?

Was just coming to post this. Based on his placement at Kear, IMO he’s likely at a lower level of socio-emotional maturity. Very calculated though, to continue posting on social SM under the guise of a bereaved brother. As @JosieJo says, lots of anger projected on his SM too, IMO it’s very telling that there was no apparent anger at the tragic circumstances of his sisters murder.

News reports upthread note Amber was living in a children’s house…I wonder why she was moved out of the foster placement? Speculation, but could it have been a place of safety for Amber, they may have been separated if Amber had disclosed abuse? That could be motivation, they argued and he ‘silenced’ her.

They had been with their foster placement (wonderful people by the looks of it) for some years beforehand (would explain why they felt they wanted to take their name) so the residential home was a fairly recent development. There is a reason she was there and I imagine we will hear about it soon.

Absolutely.

Just to make it clear, my speculation above RE abuse was in no way in including the Foster Carers who no doubt acted in Amber’s best interests. They must be devastated to the core.

Were Amber and Connor siblings named Gibson. But then were both fostered, together, and they 'adopted' the name Niven?
I understand Amber was living in residential care most recently but if someone could confirm the above, much appreciated.

From looking through their socials and friends lists & tagged photos etc I believe this to be correct.

Neither of them were living with the Foster family anymore though.
