whoever took him has definitely committed more crimes since then. especially since they got away with this one. could it have been someone serving a sentence for CP possession and spilled the beans to a fellow inmate? Whoever took Andrew certainly has an interest in young boys and that won't go unnoticed with LE for this long

It must be absolutely heart breaking to finally get some news but it’s also the worse news imaginable to the family.


Plus it seems they are also very much in the dark as well over what prompted this arrest.

There is always that one particular case that tugs at your heart and turns your mind inside out with theories as to what actually happened and whether the truth would ever come to light. Andrew Gosden is that case for me, I've been following it for years and I am desperate for answers.

I never bought the Suicide or Running from Home speculation in regards to Andrew. I was always convinced he fell into harm due to an opportunistic adult individual. That said, human trafficking came as a shock due to how adamant many have been on other platforms stating how rare/difficult it is to pull off in the UK.

I am eagerly awaiting more updates over the coming months. From one 28 year old to another, lets get you justice Andrew!

This is shocking, but I've always feared this was a real possibility for Andrew. Now that human trafficking on the table, I wonder how and/or if the disappearance of 16-year old Alex Sloley from Edmonton 10 months later could factor in with these developments. The retired head of the Metropolitan Police’s Central Images Unit, Mick Neville has previously stated he believes there could be a connection between these two cases. Both these boys vanished without a trace.

Given that the police don't seem willing to release more information at this stage, I do wonder why they would choose to release any information at all. Seems odd, unless there was some law requiring them to do so within a certain time period (e.g., 35 days)

What kind of evidence would have warranted an arrest and then a release while they investigate?

Don’t LE normally do the investigation first, and then the arrest and the charge? Something seems off.

That's the way the British police legally operate.

In the UK you can be arrested just on suspicion of committing an offence, even if you haven't actually done it.

The police can arrest you, question you etc. THEN do the investigation, while you're on bail. Or if it's more serious, "on remand"....which means detained in prison while they investigate.

They aren't even on bail. They are 'released under investigation" which means that the police don't even have enough evidence to place conditions on them.

Highly unlikely I would say

Buddi tags are used for DV suspects awaiting trial in the community in some areas. Not relevant here imo.

They are probably having to present themselves at a police station regularly though.

Massively surprising IMO, I am fascinated if we'll find out what's led to this link being made with AG. It must be fairly compelling for this info to be released IMO. But as others said upthread, we've seen arrests over the years come to nothing in other cases so I really hope something comes of this.

Do you think the police wanted to release this latest update? I can't see any benefit without naming the suspects.
Maybe the story was going to get leaked and that's why it has come out.
