Thanks...sorry...but it's not new....unless I missed something in the other footage?

I don't think the footage is new, but unless I missed something (which is the most likely option because I've got a memory like a fish) I just though the times were different and they mentioned the phone call being this early on when I just assumed it was just a bit before he disappeared.

My bad if its just repeating the same.

As SheCarrot said, the cctv from inside the Lamb has not been shown in msm.

Here's a link to the Sky article with the friend - I have rewatched the vid clip and I think it has been edited/shortened but there is text in the article, where he mentions AK looking anxious.

The only suggestion was that he might have gone outside to get some cigarettes and gone outside because he looked a bit anxious."

'He's vanished': Plea from best friend of missing firefighter

Thank you , @Alyce .
The item was so historic(sadly) in 'copy' terms , there was an inevitability that it would have been hacked/chopped .

Oh, I really hope it's unrelated.

So you think he somehow sweet talked his way on to a coach full of oblivious grannies leaving for France on a Friday evening? Unlikely.

That's not how I understood @BodyOfWater 's post. S/he merely used the coach trip as an example to illustrate that you can easily get into mainland Europe without having to produce your passport.

Thanks for the updates. Sounds ominous

Oh, gosh. Thinking of Anthony and his loved ones.

Chopper still airborne. Pells is 5 mins walk away for me but I'm not going to go. We will find out soon enough if the news is bad. Just to say as Sussex Police headquarters is here in Lewes the chopper is often seen, however this feels very different.

We know he was seen walking up past the flea market at 7.41 and we know he doesn't have local knowledge. Where had he previously been? The Royal Oak and Lansdowne. He may have therefore continued walking a route that he did know, which is up to the War Memorial and then down St Nicolas Street or more likely Station Street (albeit no CCTV footage has been published from here). That would take him down towards the station, but if he is looking for cigarettes etc rather than a train, could he have walked back down Friars Walk and found his way to the River Ouse in this part of the town?

In theory, yes.
I'd disregarded that happening mainly for following reasons.
Firstly, the river takes quite a sharp turn away from town at that point. To access it from Friar's Walk would involve walking through a housing estate or a nature reserve. What possible reason would there be to go down there when the route to the railway station (if he was trying to get there) is clearly signposted?
If he went via the War Memorial/Station Street he'd have passed through the centre of town, through a major traffic junction very close to a bank and the Crown Court and I can't believe there wouldn't be more cctv footage (including outside The Lansdown) and might also have gone past the station, which is bristling with cctv outside and in.

I think it much more likely the reason for the lack of further footage is because he was headed away from town.

So, my other thought is Waitrose. As mentioned earlier- could he of gone there for cigarettes or whatever he left the pub for? I know this is not directly next to the river, but it is close. Also the car park behind waitrose. He may have looked for a quiet place for the loo. The water level at the back of that car park would have been very high. But again, how would he have got there without being picked up on CCTV? East street? He had already walked past this road as he walked up towards and past the flea market. That's the strange thing, no more CCTV sightings??

if he’d been to Waitrose, I’m sure he’d have been picked up on their CCTV

The police helicopter has been up searching in the #Lewes area on Friday afternoon (3 January) for a #missing man. The missing man is not Anthony Knott but another person. We are not linking the two disappearances.
