Could we think that maybe he had been spiked or something like that? I think that might be a long shot but this is turning out to be incredibly strange as more information comes through

In my opinion and this is purely a guess he has been out on the p..s with his work mates since lunch time by 7.30 they had had a few. Somebody has let out a secret when they were drunk. He has gone outside and made a phone call. Gone to fire station to confront someone but they werent there. Heads back to the pub to meet the lads but somwthing happens on the way back??
I only thought of this after looking at the google map of the fire station and saw the car park behind it next to the river. If they were in a minibus could it have been parked at/near the fire station? It could be a reason to head up that way.

Do we know how they travelled, anyone?

Lucy his fiancee agrees he looks very disorientated in the video which she finds worrying

i wonder has he fallen asleep in someones shed/garage/outhouse and they've locked up and gone away for christmas. trapping him inside.

She must just be frantic. Awful for her. Surely there is more cctv these days. I'm surprised the police haven't located more sightings of him.

I think all the travelling that was mentioned was that Anthony was dropped off by his fiancée at another pub...I don't know if this was in the same town or not

To go back to the pub from that CCTV image from the barbers he would have to take a sharp right at that exact point. He doesn't look like hes doing that and so its only a mere ten yards or so forward to be on the high street. They must either have him on more CCTV or he did indeed end up taking that right turn but where did he end up!? so strange.
I also wonder whether the timestamp is correct

1. Anthony switched his phone off and was last seen 20 minutes after that on CCTV. Why switch your phone off? Saving battery, I don't know - I find that odd.

2. The media are stating that the still shows him walking back to the pub. Okay, so how did he not get to the pub? The maps doesn't make it seem like such a big area.

Sorry, I'm just rambling my thoughts.

His fiancee dropped him off at a different pub at 12. 30 midday her sky interview said.

Thanks, someone said she dropped him off in West Wycombe which didn't make any sense.

Lewes can have very steep hills - the video could show him looking unsteady because he is perhaps walking uphill, and is lost around the small streets of the town. Added to perhaps being drunk, this could explain his apparent unsteadiness.

I live close to the area - Lewes is an odd party night out town to choose when Brighton is so close by.

I know this is probably completely wrong and out there. But, should the friends be looked into maybe? Like, they've given such vague information. I mean hours of drinking, he's not going to walk out for no reason is he? And then he literally vanishes but we assume voluntarily turns his phone off? I really don't get this.
I also would like to know why the police don't think he left? Is that because of the taxis or the phone was still in the area but that doesn't really mean he is?

It was in West Wycombe just found a clip

Sky News

So how did they get to Lewes?
Googling there's a Swan pub in West Wickham, near Orpington. They must have met and travelled from there.

Makes a lot more sense.

lucy has said the friends are being fantastic....if i were them i wouldn't want to be in the public eye either

No and that's fine but you think theyd have insight in to where he said he was found, what mood he was in, did he have phone battery, how drunk he was etc. That would inform a search.

It could be they were too inebriated to remember much themselves, or perhaps the missing subject was doing something they prefer not to repeat. Those possibilities come to mind....

Amateur opinion and speculation

The police would have this information. There is no need for the general public to know every last detail unless it helps find him. The police are handling the search not the general public.

It looks like people from the family and the town did hold a search today and that info i think would be useful to have make best use of resources for a search.

From what has been put on the Lewes facebook group it's the family that found this cctv not the police, it reads like the police aren't being that forthcoming with collecting cctv etc. How accurate that is I wouldn't know. It does seem to me that more background info would be useful.
