<modsnip: reference to removed post> I did say it almost looks like Anthony bumped into the people in front of him but in no way did I mean it in a 'victim bashing' way, I just meant that when they were all close to the crossing, the gap had closed which implied to me that he had sped up. I personally thought was interesting. I am sorry if it was taken the wrong way.

I saw it exactly the way you did Mr Leelee - AK was moving faster and I thought he was trying to make the crossing at the same time as the other people.
Now that I know he did not cross over at that point, then I think he was just in a hurry to get somewhere.

Wow I never caught onto this. He is definitely using what looks like a white iPhone in the cctv outside the pub earlier in the day. Maybe its someone else's phone he was using, possibly saving his own battery? Didn't want to use his own phone for unknown reasons... or, it is his phone, and was speaking in a call on WhatsApp which uses data.

Anthony's fiancé posted a photo of his phone(his phone in the actual 'case' he had with him - phone on right hand side(open) , his bank cards in wallet-style slots on the left , as I recall) . The phone case/cover is black leather-type - a match in size and depth as the phone .

My thoughts at the minute until new information are
He left to get something (not sure what dont think its relevant imo but possibly cigarettes)
He decided to try and get "cigarettes" from up near the elephant and castle as that was their next stop.
At some point after his first walk past the the elephant he decided he'd had enough and was not going to rejoin the group.
Something unknown happened to him while walking to station..I just cant think what ..most likely accidentally imo ..not convinced about him falling in water but logically the most likely

Has anyone ever read any mention if there was cctv at the lamb ?

Yes there was cctv inside the lamb because police referred to seeing him rubbing his hands together there as well. At least I think they were referring to inside the Lamb and not an earlier pub.

It is an odd choice (when there's the delights of Croydon/Bromley within close proximity) .
The inference I got was there was meet-ups with others from different fire stations(Kent/Sussex) and hence Lewes was chosen as it was central-ish for everyone , and , presumably , because it's got a lot of proper pubs within close proximity of each other .
This is what I thought but was told otherwise in here.

Det Insp Gillings said: "Anthony walks on the balls of his feet which makes it looks as though he is bouncing along."

He also said he could be seen rubbing his hands in the newly-released CCTV footage.

"We can see him doing [this] within the pub itself earlier in the evening," he added.

Search for missing firefighter continues

Saying "the pub" makes me think they are talking about The Lamb.

It would be interesting to know what his friends thought about Anthony not being with them when they left Lewes. Did Anthony tell them he would make his own way home earlier/later than them? Or did they not know of his whereabouts.

Yes, I saw something that said they returned on the train around 9pm to 10pm. Anyone know if this is confirmed? If its correct then at what point do you wait for your colleague and then give up waiting?

Thanks so possibly inside the pub ..I was just wondering if the police would know for certain or not if he tried to go back and find the group

It's a long time to go without a meal. Unless they ate at one of the pubs they were in.

Yes definitely..a bit stereotypical but a curry would normally be on the cards towards the end of an all day pub crawl

The phone is black....with something white on the back, upper part. At least that is what I see in the footage from outside the bar earlier that evening (daylight) Sorry, just found the footage and lost it again in all the posts.

As mentioned , there was CCTV in the Lamb(not published) . His best friend (not present at the drink-up),watched the footage with presumably police/family , and he was quoted(but I'm paraphrasing) as saying he thought Anthony was looking very anxious .
It was also confirmed that Anthony did not have a drink nor buy a drink whilst in the Lamb .

Good point....I didn't see this confirmed anywhere..so we have to be careful. I think the waiting would depend on what he told them when he left and why. I can imagine they were trying to get him on the phone asking about his whereabouts if he was supposed to hook up with them, but he didn't respond.

Do you mean suicide? The water is not that near that you can fall in. I don't think he's committed suicide. Or fell in a swimming pool or anything. He does not look that drunk that he can't stand up.
No I do not mean suicide.

I can see the white on the top of the black case which looks like his cards etc, but the phone itself, the front (second pic) looks white. Just something really small but thought I would bring it up. Was the photo of his phone posted by his fiancee on SM?

Thanks....the word anxious, coming from your best friend.....that stands out to me....very much.

Definitely black - I think the white section could be where the camera is ?

These police maps are always reveal quite a lot, but they usually include all crime reported including very low level incidents. I think it always makes it look worse than it is. I am local to this area and Lewes is certainly not know for crime. It probably has its general issues no worse than anywhere else in East Sussex, and there tends to be hotspots around pubs and main areas of town etc, but Lewes is generally regarded as a lovely, pleasant, historical town to visit.

Also, it should be noted that those figures on the map are for November, when Lewes hosts the biggest and most famous bonfire event in the UK, and around 80,000 people descend on the town to be there. There are usually a few incidents that night just due to the enormous amount of people who go.

Agreed about these crime maps. I don't know about that area particularly but I know for a fact the figures in my city are sometimes incorrect. For example, the street I live on is tiny, literally about 100 yards in length, there are 2 pubs, a large tall office block, executive flats and a handful of smaller private rent properties, like mine. I can see the whole street from my living room window and see most of what happens out there. Yet when crime figures have been released there is stuff on there like 'shoplifting' charges - when there are no shops to shoplift from for starters, other crimes, like fighting, that have taken place around the corner, where all the nightlife is, must sometimes get logged as happening on my street - when they definitely didn't. So yeah, basically what I'm saying is I don't put much faith in these statistics generally.

Screenshot_20200102_124555.jpg this was the river the morning after at high tide one slip on the muddy sloped embankment and your in and away. That's about 8ft deeper than it is normally. there's a area of flat grass land that's normally dry and walkable on before the rivers natural course.
