He has been in my mind since he first went missing. Somewhat bittersweet news; heartbreaking to hear he was found deceased, but I am glad that his family can get some semblance of closure.

When I first started this thread I did not expect that this would be the outcome. I did suspect a hit and run in the beginning but not also the disposal of the body so close by. Tony would have passed by Auch Estate on his train journey to Fort William. Sadly later that day he would meet his end there. I haven't passed through the area once since Tony went missing without thinking about what could have happened.

Tragic. If it is Tony I hope that he passed peacefully while just trying to get some rest on his journey but the timing of arrests and then this is ominous. Feel for his family, I imagine this will be a long process to get to the bottom of what happened.

Sadly that doesn't appear to be the case. But now they can get to the bottom of this and his family can find some peace.

If its Tony, RIP. Lets hope justice can be served in the likely event it is needed in this case. I would imagine the bike may of been in a bad state with the crash and disposed of and not on the property.

A bit stunned to see the press release come out yesterday afternoon. If the pair had come forward at the time, his family would have been spared all this uncertainty and unknown. Seems clear to me they either panicked, thinking there would be a murder/manslaughter charge, or were drunk-driving and afraid of the repercussions, leading to thinking that burying Tony on the estate was their safest course of action.

“We have informed Mr Parsons’ family, who are being supported by specialist officers. The thoughts of everyone involved in the investigation are with them at this difficult time.

UPDATE - HUMAN REMAINS CONFIRMED AS MISSING MAN TONY PARSONS

Police Scotland can confirm that a body discovered near Bridge of Orchy, Argyll and Bute, is Anthony Parsons, who had been missing since 2017.

Mr Parsons travelled from his home in Tillicoultry, Stirlingshire, on Friday, 29 September, 2017, to Fort William, intending to return home by bicycle and was reported missing on Monday, 2 October, 2017.

He travelled south on the A82 and was last seen around 11.30pm that night outside the Bridge of Orchy Hotel.

On Tuesday, 12 January, 2021, specialist search officers, supported by forensic scientists, discovered his remains in a remote area of ground close to a farm near the A82 at Bridge of Orchy.

Mr Parsons’ body has now been recovered by the police and a post mortem examination will be carried out in the coming days.

The inquiry is being led by detectives from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, supporting local officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Sommerville said: “This is a difficult and challenging investigation given the remote location and the extreme weather conditions faced by the team.

“We will support Mr Parsons’ family through this very difficult and distressing time as the investigation into his death continues.

“I would like to repeat my thanks to everyone who has assisted our enquiries so far and again urge anyone who may be able to help to come forward."

Anyone with information can to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting reference 559 of 2 October 2017.

There’s so much I am hearing about this that I would like to say but obviously can’t due to the case , rumours etc if what we hear is true though I hope these 2 that allegedly done this are locked up for a long time . They have absolutely no remorse at all .
