It is annoying, that the charges laid against the men are not identified. The British press has no teeth anymore.

Dumbarton Sheriff Court schedule for today: Court Roll
Interestingly, the two names I'd heard from local gossip don't appear there. There are a couple different people there with the same last name though.
The page says it was last edited yesterday though, so if this happened quickly last night or this morning I guess their names won't be there yet.

Murder? Wow

Two men have been charged with the murder of a charity cyclist who disappeared in Scotland four years ago.

The rest is behind a paywall.
Ah, yes, so it was indeed Alexander and Robert McKellar as the local gossip suspected:

"Alexander McKellar and Robert McKellar, both aged 29-years-old, were arrested and charged in connection with Mr Parson’s death, Police Scotland announced on Thursday. At Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Thursday afternoon, Alexander McKellar was formally charged with conspiracy to murder, murder, causing serious injury to another person by driving, and attempting to defeat the ends of justice

"Robert McKellar was also charged with conspiracy to murder, murder, and attempting to defeat the ends of justice."

Here's an archive link to avoid the paywall: https://web.archive.org/web/2021120...me/tony-parsons-death-bike-ride-b1968390.html (should appear in the next few minutes)

Does the murder charge suggest they have evidence they finished him off after hitting him!? Awful.

  • #490
Jeez. Sounds like they hit Tony on the main road and then finished him off down on the Auch estate before burying him.

it would have been one thing for this to have been a hit and run but if the charge is murder these absolute scumbags have clearly done something more sinister.

Indeed interesting, big gap in time between Mckellar's last two posts there. Note that Parsons was last seen at Bridge of Orchy Hotel around 23:30 and his body was found a few miles down the road.

For all you folks who are vexed by paywalls: all you have to do is install a javascript-blocking utility (the kind you can toggle on and off) as an add-on to your browser. When you turn it on, the paywall magically disappears!

Wow was not expecting the murder charge, manslaughter maybe? Be interesting to see how they prove murder.

Post mortem must have shown fatal injuries not consistent with a road accident.

Poor tony. Glad justice is coming

Sounds very much like they hit him with a vehicle due to driving dangerously, seriously injuring him, and rather than seek help, decided to finish the job. MOO

EDIT: Hadn't spotted that the information had been posted already. If the police have finally charged the twins, it should be pretty cut and dry when the trial starts.
