The Canadian murder in August 1987 is very interesting in relation to Fuller’s interests & MO

Here is a list of the tour dates for Cutting Crew in 1987
July 3rd &July 6th: Greek Theater San Fransisco, 9th July Seatle, Washington, 10th July Portlsand, Washington. 13th July Calgary, Canada, 14th July Edmunton, Canada, 15th July Regina, Canada. 18th July Peoria Illionis, 19th July Minessotta.

21st July to 31st July they were a support band for Starship various USA.

They toured around the USA from 1st August to 7th September and the only other appearence in Canada was on 6th August 1987 at Kingswood Amphitheatre in Toronto, Canada.

We only know from newspaper reports that Fuller spent thousands of pounds following the band as their unofficial photographer. I think the diaries police found in his loft for 1986/1987 would be very telling.

August 27, 1987 is the date of the Canadian murder I have been looking at. However as my findings show this was not on a date that the group he was following toured Canada. I guess anything can only be ruled out if DNA is checked on the international database.
Co-incidentally Fuller has ancestors buried at a cemetery only 15 minutes drive away from Scarborough, Toronto, Canada which is where the crime took place.

Great sleuthing Gertrude. A full DNA profile is held for the Canadian murder. I do hope Kent Police will be getting in touch with them.

Could you imagine him turning up at every Cutting Crew gig with a pro camera, flash and lens. He most likely annoyed audience members around him and probably smashed the band with constant camera flashes. Not to mention a collective groan from the band when they spotted him at yet another gig.

Do you have a link to this murder please?

Can we call him a "groupie"???

This article also includes the family interview and we are told that Margaret was planning to go on a walking holiday to Dorset, UK before her murder.

Circumstantial evidence only regarding Fuller so waiting to hear back from Canadian homicide about DNA testing and if they check against International records of DNA. If the DNA evidence has already been checked then we can 100% rule him out as any kind of suspect.

It will also be interesting to hear what happens with Bedgebury forest murders which were mentioned in the media as something police are looking at in relation to Fuller.

haha...probably an annoying groupie too.

I saw a mention that he tried to "sell his photos of Cutting Crew to fans" which makes me suspect he was nowt but a bootlegger. I wonder if he loitered outside gigs and tried to flog his photos.

The greatest hit of Cutting Crew is
"I've just died in your arms tonight"

Thanks. Are there any particular reasons you suspect Fuller for this murder?

As I said previously there is only circumstantial evidence:-

Cutting Crew tour was only a 45 min drive away at Kingswood Amphitheatre in Toronto, Canada on 6th August so Fuller may have been hanging around the area for a few weeks after his groupie tours photographing the band (If indeed he did follow them abroad for the launch of their 1987 album).
Fuller has an ancestors grave at Resthaven memorial gardens which is only 15 minutes away from the scene of the murder
Margaret was a keen cyclist and papers say that she had dreams to cycle across the continent. Did she correspond with other cyclists as a pen friend maybe.

Margaret was coming to the UK to visit London then a walking holiday to Dorset but was murdered before the trip. Had Margaret visited the UK before her planned 1987 trip and made friends with someone.
Murder by Strangulation then Sexually assaulted (no record on file if sexual motive was before or after her being murdered).
Her looks are similar to Wendy Knell.

Lol, Probably got super stoked when they played what must surely be his favorite song , not to mention annoy the band's DP, imo, speculation.rbbm.

How depraved Bedsit Killer David Fuller got away with abusing corpses for years
''Fuller was unofficial photographer for 80s band Cutting Crew who sang Died In Your Arms.

He and second wife Sally would tour the country following the band while they gigged.

Of his photography, Wendy Turland said: "David was an avid photographer and saw himself as the official 'unofficial' photographer for Cutting Crew, who were doing a lot of gigging at the time.

"He would follow them and take hundreds of pictures of them.... They (Fuller and his wife) followed them everywhere and went to every gig. They must have spent hundreds."

That's all they were known for...in fact, I didn't even know the name "Cutting Crew". I knew that song and remember my old man had it on one of his tapes in the car back in the 80s, but didn't know it was by Cutting Crew until the Fuller trial.

Me too :)
There is a radio station in Poland "Oldies Goldies" haha
I like listening to these songs.
When I googled CCrew now b/c of DF I gasped when I saw this song is theirs.
Umm... I think I will start to listen to modern songs now :)

Me too, it's a great tune...such a shame the band has been linked to DF, even though they most likely had no idea who he was.

Well, you know, publicity is publicity!

Here's something I haven't seen mentioned here, or maybe I missed it. I believe the age difference between Fuller and his 2nd wife was near 10 years. Perhaps another sleuth can confirm that, but it's certainly the impression I got when I looked into DF's background just after his arrest.

Seems to me that, by being with her, he was trying to re-live his 20s. I suspect he was a 30 something within a social circle of 20 somethings, and who all found him to be boring. All the while, he thought he was god's gift to women, which seemed to annoy and offend his wife's friends and her sister.
