You can give a low dose of diazepam or lorazepam. It helps to calm the nerves. It's prescribed for nervous fliers, or before minor medical procedures. She'd not be drugged.

Without being sectioned, in which case she wouldn’t be attending, they cannot force anyone medication. - IF she was willing to take it I’m sure it would have already been offered, that’s if her MH is the reason she’s not taking the stand.

I know :)
But...
Better safe than sorry.

@SpursGyal
I would imagine she has been offered every help imaginable to attend court. The fact the trial is delayed leads me to reason she's stalling her attendance. Can't they hold her in contempt of court?
If it was a medical issue, and she's listed for court today she's already seen medical staff who've passed her as fit to attend.

I’m confident ET will eventually be found guilty in the near future. She’s just stalling it as she knows she will be detested by the entire country very soon.
Me too. This little stunt seems to have been successful for her though, she will have another weekend in the remand centre and not a prison. Sickening

Are they all just left in the court room or how does it work i wonder? God love Arthurs family, so draining for them

I’d imagine she has too, however they could say this is a new episode of ill health. We of course do not know the reason for her absence, we are speculating.

The trial can continue without her present, so let’s hope next week it’s uninterrupted, because I very much doubt anything will happen now today.

I actually knew Ben Butler  long before he had children mind, back in my clubbing days. He was a regular and popular member on the party scene and well liked and respected. However, it was a well known fact that he was a womaniser and a massive drug taker. Eventually his abusive tendencies towards women came out and his reputation started to spread in a negative light. Eventually our lives went in different directions and he never crossed my mind again. Until he was charged for the first offence against Ellie…. Majority of us who knew him, didn’t doubt that he’d lost his temper and hurt her. When he was exonerated, my jaw hit the floor to be honest! I watched him on this morning also, the same cockiness that once made him popular was still there. Victim of a massive miscarriage of justice…. The rest is history and as we know, he eventually went on to kill her. Again, with grandparents fighting tooth and nail to protect their grandchildren. Again, ignored.

They will be called into the court when it is ready to resume, they will be in the courthouse, but not the room.

Jesus! The grandparents used all their life savings to fight to keep Ellie. They ran out of money and he got her back. The judge said it was a happy ending when they were reunited. Poor little girl

And the family court Judge forbade social services from conducting future investigations into him.

Here we go-

Day 34 of trial begins
Good afternoon.

Following the delays which have brought the proceedings to a halt this week the jury is now in court and the trial resumes for what is effectively the 34th day.

Judge Wall addresses the jury on three matters. He says a specialist has assessed Tustin and concluded she is fit to continue.

Secondly, he confirms one juror has now been discharged on health grounds. Thirdly, Judge Wall reminds them to ignore media coverage of the case in response to press reports over the last few days, while the trial was adjourned.

Nina Ellin, for the prosecution, continues with some agreed facts.

I bet she's furious she hasn't got her own way :)

I don't remember him being on TV but I might have forgotten that. Serial abuser of women then beat his 6 year old daughter Ellie to death. Claimed she jumped off the bed dancing to Peppa Pig.

Actually, now I think about it he might have been interviewed in relation to brain and eye injuries Ellie sustained from being shaken by him when she was a baby, and burning her on a radiator, claiming he had nothing to do with either incident.

Ben Butler was on This Morning after he got his first conviction for shaking Ellie as a baby overturned. He was exonerated from everything that was previously found to have happened. The judge even took the almost unheard of step of making an order banning SS from having involvement with him again and congratulated him on winning his fight to clear his name.

Ellie, who was living under an SGO with her grandparents after his first conviction for shaking her as a baby, was returned to his care and then he went on to further abuse her and finally killed her.

Giving him free rein to do whatever he wanted.

Oh its on guys!!

Woahhhh! The judge banned SS from further investigating him?? Unforgivable. Given the abuser carte blanche to abuse.

I wonder what this judge later said when the poor baby was murdered by this monster?
Did he/she even say sorry? :(
