I’m not sure where I heard this but there was often talk about the perpetrator being the son of a diplomat, to me this sounded quite fanciful, but certainly could account for the intermittent offending, I think one of the critical points about this perpetrator is his driving the victims car during the commission of the crime and the blatant arrogance/risk taking /blasé element of that particular act and Ido wonder whether there have been any other similar incidents anywhere else in the UK or in fact anywhere else in Europe.

Did anyone ever learn anything more about this post and about what the OP was referring to?

IIRC the OP had a POI who looked somewhat interesting at first glance, but was on the DNA database, and IMO too young.

I don't think the diplomat's son is involved. Thousands of men were put forward, and the gaps weren't as intermittent as the police originally thought.

There were certainly offenders with the same MO. Clive Barwell being the most notorious.

The Batman MO is unusual though because he drops them home.

IMO if caught, he would have claimed it was consensual. The police would have seen through this, but a jury might not have.
