'Age at disappearance: 22
Missing from: Holyhead
Missing since: 15/11/21
Catrin's parents have been fundraising for a private investigator after reports of possible sightings emerged. She was 22 years old in November, 2021, when she bought a return ticket to Holyhead, Anglesey, and vanished. Her parents, Gerry and Wendy, have vowed never to give up their search.

North Wales Police has released a damning report into its own work on the case, finding six "unacceptable" failings. Gerry and Wendy, from Holyhead, have lost faith in the force, which is no longer actively investigating the case. Following our last story on the disappearance, several people contacted the parents about reported sightings of Catrin which they had not been aware of, although those who came forward said they had provided the information to police much earlier.'

I sincerely believe Catrin is dead and not by suicide. Did the police take a good look at the ex at the time? Probably not... as the family have said it sounds like the whole investigation was botched, they very quickly came to the conclusion young female, uni student, must be self harm. Doesn't add up though. I feel so bad for her parents.

A new independent investigation is being launched into the disappearance of Catrin Maguire. The 22-year-old has been missing for four years, having last been seen in her home town of Holyhead on Anglesey in November 2021.

Her heartbroken family have continued to look for answers ever since, amid the pain of not knowing what happened or her whereabouts. Investigators from the charity Locate International have now taken up the case and will conduct their own independent probe at the family's request.

Speaking about the launch of the new investigation, her dad Gerry Maguire said "all we want are answers".

Catrin's father, Gerry Maguire, said: "Since Catrin went missing, it's become clear to us that there's only so much we can do as a family.

"We don't have the time or the skills to make the connections via social media, when all we want are answers.

"We're very grateful that Locate International can help take on this responsibility and to take some of the load away from us. It has been, and continues to be, overwhelming and exhausting..."
