if you read the interview with her sister, she calls claudia sweet.

maybe its just me, but id only call a sister that if she was a lot younger....a teenager or a. child.

im not trying to defend what she did....im just trying to understand it......you get the picture of someone who had no malice. in her but who caused a lot of pain to many people

as I say, its hard to get an accurate picture...I dont. think she cared, but im not. sure she could grasp the emotional impact of what she did.

probably wouldn't feel like that if she lived near me

Just, what I am trying. I can't understand these many contradicting statements from all the people incl. family. Having fun in her pubs , being nasty behind one's back, for example, isn't that nice at all, IMO. Did she deceive everyone, who was speeking positive about her; was she so nifty? Idk and obviously won't know in the future.

Most heavy drinkers have two sides to their personality. I don't suppose her sister saw much of the boozy side on the occasions when they met up. But sounds like she knew her sister all the same.

yes, I think a lot of it was down to the booze...but then, why does someone a long way past the age of teenage rebellion feel the need to get smashed all the time

The thing is none of this could have relevance to her disappearance if she was the victim of a snatch abductor.

The suspected alley lurker who was arrested in March 2015:
'It is believed this could be the fourth time police have spoken to the dad, whose wife was being comforted by one of their grown-up sons today.'
'The officer leading the murder inquiry described it as a “critical phase in seeking the truth” about what happened to Claudia.
Claudia Lawrence: Married dad arrested on suspicion of murdering chef
**************** meant to add to this, this article shows that his arrest didn't come out of nowhere, he had been on their radar from the beginning. Also this is where we start to see the change to JK's media response, with a less supportive stance towards the police as they crept 'closer to home'.

this is true, but I dont think she was, although I dont think she was the victim of a jealous wife or girlfriend either unless it was jk.

if I had to choose between the two, though, id say it was more likely a jealous wife or girlfriend.

of course I may be wrong, but there seems to be too much unusual stuff. going on at that time.

sorry, this is a reply to keep it reals last post before one....posts crossing

The same could be said of any functioning alcoholic. Her social life revolved around drinking alcohol in pubs surrounded by older men with a few bob who would keep her glass topped up no doubt, and she worked for many years in the catering industry (pubs/hotels) where alcohol and late nights are a way of life.

Well she did like to compartmentalise....

that might be it, yoz.

but I know a few barmaids or landladies etc who are very careful not to get smashed because they've seen what can happen or they've experienced it themselves.

claudia was probably eager to please and had got beyond a certain point

So are your thoughts that it was a jealous wife or girlfriend that did it or did they engage/employ a third party to do it?

Given Malton's not that far from Heworth and pubs are a hub for gossip about the new girl in town
I wouldnt have been surprised if her reputation had preceded her.

even the police themselves saw a resemblance in the allyman.
Therefore they would call him in.
But much later on the police kept asking for people to identity the allyman claiming he is still key to the investigation .
But after the fiasco ? they said they are not simply going to investigate on a whim .
In other words they wanted more than just another name .
And I would think if the police have a name for the allyman they could video him ,secretly or not even using the very same camera from the same distance to put him in the ‘frame’ so to speak.
Therefore I believe the police still don’t have a name for the allyman .
Of course by now they might have a name and also put him in her car through cig dna but even this much won’t be enough without 1 a body 2 confession .
There is also the chance the perpetrator grows a conscience especially ( also to help himself ) if he is not known to the police by telling them where she is !
Even if they find unknown dna on her body he won’t be caught .
This story could easily become not just cold but frozen .
The above was in response to Yozzer’s post okay ?

And PR's business had been based in Malton since 1990 so likely he knew her former long term lover too.
