I think a trip to the pub would have been mentioned since the pub manager seemed to be very involved in the early days and there would surely have regulars inside who would have witnessed it? Here it is on the NYP site. It says 3.05pm at the junction of EP/HR and I think she waved to a mother who was picking up her child from the school on H Rd.

Thanks Yozzer, I had got mixed up. She was well past the pub then.
Where can I find the reconstruction video, had a search on youtube to no avail, but I have definitely watched it in the last few weeks. It will show where she was when the friend saw her and will give a clue which direction she'd been coming from I think.

I can't find it either. The link on the findclaudia site doesn't link to the film either.

I wondered if Claudia had gone the other route in an outward journey, avoiding the Costcutter camera, looked for a car, then returned via the Costcutter camera (but not caught on it?)
Maybe no mobile call because she was requested not to do so.

Ok, here's the reconstruction, the bit we want is at 3:36 min. She was walking back towards her house on the same side of the road. Means nothing as there is a crossing just behind her.

Didn't Cartwright live on East Parade? Could she have popped round there?
Sorry if this has already been discussed and discounted.

Yeah, I had thought originally she'd gone to East Parade but then I noticed the other address, I didn't realise it was so close to Claudia's home.

What's puzzling me is why she didn't ask the woman giving her a lift to drop her at Costcutters (she could have made an excuse to want to shop there) instead of going home. The only thing I can imagine is she may have had something through her door when she got home that she wasn't aware of until she had opened her door, a hand posted note or mailed letter.

Can somebody good with maps please post a map of Claudia's house, Nestles offices, factory and any more distribution depots they know of please, including the companies Nestle took over, eg) Cadbury's, Frys etc. I'm curious of a route from Claudia's home along Stockton lane that somebody may use coming home from a early morning shift. I know it's a big ask but you may be rewarded from a higher source :)

Have just googled the exact addresses & a walk to the E Parade property would only be 6 mins - so either journey would be feasible, particularly for a regular walker like CL.

You mean looked for a car at the address visited to check if they were at home - or not - without necessarily going up to the house and making herself public? That's certainly possible.

I Thought she may have walked along Stockton lane towards the O*****d address to catch and wave down a car coming from a large business, maybe Nestle on it's way home. Then along O*****d Ave, looked down into the O*****d Drive Cul de Sac for the car and back towards Costcutters in a round trip.

I don't mind doing it. I made a start I might need some help with locations though, all I know is Rowntrees and Terrys lol Or do you mean not just choccy/sweety companies? See Yorkies.. chocolate on the brain!

You got me confused, there is no cadburys in York, apart from the outlet shop at McArthur Glen

And this is a little creepy, but look at the name of one of the businesses at the Bull commercial centre...

Thank you Skibaboo.

I didn't want to miss any companies associated with Nestles that's why I said Cadbury etc. It was just the Nestle's businesses I wanted but if anybody else wants to add a business feel free.
I read way back that a poster familiar with the Nags head that said something like 'A group of men who worked for a LARGE company in York were questioned' So I thought of Chocolate.

Well, that proved interesting. Look where those addresses are, they do look like the staff would use the small traffic island that's at the end of Claudia's road to access Stockton lane should they live where we've been discussing.

Ahh I see. I get why you think chocolate too. Portakabin is a large company too. I'm sure there are quite a few more too. I'm sat in the dentist office and just checking in, but when I get home I'll put my thinking cap on.

I've been thinking about this and remembered something. It wouldn't be Royal Mail would it? I feel like I remember them interviewing a group of posties whose route covered the area and Claudias route to work? I know just where the main sorting office is but I know just where another is too, and it may be relevant as it was the one where we had to go collect parcels when we lived near to Claudias house. I'll add them both to the map anyway.

And Claudia posted a letter on the Wednesday on her way home from work.

The witness that saw 'left handed smoking hoodie man' and a woman on melrosegate bridge was a postie.

Things that make you go hmmm

Ahh, Postmen, forgot about those.

I'll keep looking at the map link for added addresses.
