Isn't the interesting thing here that all it says is 'Reporting Restrictions'. Not 'Summing Up' or 'Legal Submissions', just 'Reporting Restrictions'. It seems that something was going on for 4 1/2 hours that can't be reported.

The Isa Giga trial was on today in Court 6 too, probably from 10:28 to 12:10, so perhaps with MG there was something quite quick from 10:00, later briefly continued after lunch. If (Spartan) it was related to the reported Tuesday afternoon incident, I doubt there's much to be done with it for now. That said, a parabolic beverage release could have been part of a larger incident.

The jury has retired to consider its verdicts in the retrial of Constance Marten and Mark Gordon, who are both accused of the manslaughter by gross negligence of their newborn baby Victoria.

Gordon and Marten were found guilty at an earlier trial of concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice by not reporting her death.

The jury in that case could not come to a verdict on the outstanding charges.

A retrial at the Old Bailey in London began in March.

Judge Mark Lucraft sent jurors out to begin deliberating on verdicts at 12.08pm today (Monday 7 July).

Later, the jury was sent home and told to return to resume deliberations tomorrow morning (Tuesday 8 July).

I don't know how to ascertain this or even whether accurate records are maintained, but we do know that the end date of this trial has been extended due to many absences and adjournments so whether it is one of the longest in terms of actual days the court has been sitting is probably hard to compare.

Not sure whether this is significant or not, but the other trial currently running in Court 6 was ended for today at 11.18 hrs - just before the legal submissions for C and M at 11. 28 hrs.
Perhaps they are clearing the Court and Judge's diary ready for an afternoon verdict ?
