"I have three brothers who have all had houses bought for them. They get a lot more. I am treated very differently."

In all likelihood, she was treated differently not because she's a woman, but because she behaved differently. Irresponsible, delusional and partial to sparking up relationships with convicted rapists. Most working class families would disapprove of that sort of lifestyle, never mind the landed gentry.

‘Let’s get a tent and lay low away from prying eyes’

The jury was told that the couple ended up in East Ham in London where they bought a buggy and some other baby items.
Miss Marten explained: “We wanted to get a flat in East Ham but we realised that wasn’t going to happen.”
She went on: “The problem with a flat if someone banged on the door there would be nowhere to run with Victoria. We realised our options were slowly diminishing so that is when we thought ‘let’s get a tent and lay low away from prying eyes’.”
Asked about baby Victoria’s welfare as they were moving around, Miss Marten replied: “That was our primary concern.”
Asked how they ensured she was well cared for, she answered: “As we always protected her, through parental care, love, warmth, food.”

No, I mean her sense of entitlement to getting free cash just by asking. If she wanted more income, she could have got a job.
It's not free cash, its family money, free cash would be benefit handouts. The trustees are appointed to dispense it on an agreed basis.

The Independent also have a live feed (apologies of mentioned).

Marten said she and Gordon would use disposable phones and change them frequently, naming two firms she believed were trailing her.
“A lot of these private investigators are either former police or former secret service…they can hack into anything. They are constantly on my phone and in my email,” she told the court.
She said they used burner phones to prevent them being tracked through the GPS, adding: “It just buys us more time.”

She really is coming across as very paranoid.

Hard to know the family dynamic, but if her parents cared about her as presumably most would, and had the funds to try to find her or at least know where she was, I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I would. So, maybe paranoia based partly in reality in some ways.

Oh dear

Judge says she saw Gordon pass Marten a note before her testimony

Ahead of a break in her evidence, Judge Mark Lucraft KC warned Marten not to speak to anyone and noted seeing Gordon pass her a note before she began her testimony.
He told her: “He must not do that. It’s you giving evidence, not him.”

They really do have no regard for anyone but themselves do they?

I agree. I will be curious if any MH is revealed during the sentencing reports.

No....MG did ask to go to Sainsburys ( and might indeed have stopped there ) but they were then taken to Leeds, as you noted earlier.

and on December 28, 2022, the couple's car broke down on the M18 in Doncaster.
A recovery company employee said he saw evidence of the couple "living in the vehicle", the court heard, but he saw no evidence of a baby.
"You will need to consider critically in that context any suggestion that the baby had been born at this time. If so, where was it that evening?", asked Mr Little.
The vehicle was towed to an address in Leeds,

Do you think MG had family in Leeds? Strange that an address was given, Who lived at that address I wonder and was it checked out by LE ?

Thanks for that link - yet again, a few different details, which is good

Including this

The mother told the court she delivered baby Victoria squatting by the side of the bed in an AirBnB in Northumberland on Christmas Eve.
We had lots of sheets and mattress toppers so we didn’t leave any blood on the floor,” she told the jury, adding they had a TENS machine to help her manage contractions.

She went to Leeds University, so possibly still had contacts in the area

So CM has said that they didn't try and travel abroad earlier during her pregnancy as MG didn't have access to his passport (for some strange reason involving someone from CMs family). But then she says that after the car fire they were trying to get to a seaport as quickly as possible. How would that work if he had no passport? How would that course of action be any more accessible to them at this point than before?

I think photo ID is sufficient for entry into NI from the UK, for UK citizens. Sure someone will correct me if I've got that wrong.

Aw, it's nice that they thought to buy a tens machine to help her with the birth, what a shame they didn't buy a car seat or travel system at the same time so that they could transport their child safely as they planned to move County every three days

Francis Fitzgibbon has asked Marten what they did with the pram and sleeping bags.
Marten said: "We threw a lot of things away after she passed away. There was no point in carrying it around."
She added: "She [Victoria] was our pride and joy. Our whole reason for being in the tent was for Victoria, not any other reason."

I can see that if trying to leave from Liverpool but I don't think you can get a ferry to NI or Ireland from Harwich... completely wrong side of the country I think?

"The jury heard details of how the couple’s Suzuki car had broken down on Dec 28.

Miss Marten said the car had broken down in “questionable circumstances”
."

What does that, or might it, mean? Does she think someone may have interfered with the car?

Yes, not sure why they didn't try to go to NI once they reached Liverpool, instead of doing a very quick about turn down to Harwich, seems odd.

Can't be both surely ?

She said they had ditched a buggy along with a distinctive red blanket because it gave away that they had a baby while they trying to stay under the radar.
