I don't see any plastic bags tied to shoes?

Look at the picture on right. He is wearing light or grey trainers. The picture on left is reflection plus white carrier bags on ground. You can clearly see the large orange carrier has a small white bag on top, tied.

I think it's clearer on this pic.

such a desparately sad series of photographs and article, it's bitterly cold here and to walk 3 hours with no shelter shows to my mind sheer desparation on their part. I do hope they hand themselves in or are found otherwise the outcome is bleak for them, I do feel for all of them, but especially the baby who has no choice.

I feel very concerned for the baby. How long do they think they can keep this up for? They can't keep the baby hidden away from everything forever. Well they can but it won't end well.

A positive to take from the latest article is the police obviously believe the baby is still alive.

I expect they think if they can just make it to spring it will become much easier. That poor baby.

I’m not a mum hence asking this , is the pram age appropriate? It looks more like a buggy to me, would that be ok for a tiny newborn ?

I've everything crossed that this ends well. I have this awful feeling in my stomach about it

Oh god. Come on police, tell them you'll support them all together!! How sad.

I was studying this too, the handles being separated like that throw me. It looks (hopefully) to be a bassinet, however those handles...hmmm...could be a really old mutlifunction pushchair. I know that Orbit Baby prams/puschairs have similar separate handles.

I wondered that too. I had a buggy which converted as the baby aged, and so you put them in a baby car seat and it slotted into the buggy with the baby facing you as you pushed it. Then when they are older you use like a normal buggy. It made it much easier for getting them in and out of car without waking them, and not needing a separate pram and car seat.

I wondered if it’s a similar one although it seems baby is facing outwards from those photos so that has thrown me, it’s hard to tell.

A lot of buggys can lay mostly flat, so although not ideal for a newborn (they should be completely flat) it's better than being completely upright....or inside mum's big thick jacket! Hopefully baby has lots of blankets to keep warm

It wouldn't be advised but wouldn't be the end of the world IMO.

I agree. The pram looks unsuitable but in this situation it’s not too important. It might be less conspicuous than a pram for a newborn. People like to look at newborn babies. An older baby in a buggy is less interesting. It may not be the case that they’ve thought about that though. It may just be the easiest pram they got hold of.

at least reassure them they won't face charges.
The police aren’t really saying anything are they. Just that they are looking for these people. No one has officially said the social services want them. Just that the police want to make sure they’re ok. Obviously that’s not the full story but I’m pretty sure that’s all we the public are told.

The fact they were around Whitechapel for 3 hours n the evening is really sad and as some of you have just said- it paints a more desperate picture. It would be nice to think that they had friends who were sheltering them but these last series of pictures along with the news that they bought a tent etc is very sad. I still hope this can be resolved.

Having a look a tent Martin bought it really doesnt look one of the best tents money can buy. It is also the cheapest of the three 2 man tents Argos have for sale on there website at £45. The reviews arent the greatest either, with 1 review saying it’s not really big enough even for one man. I think if someone was serious about camping out in winter for a decent amount of time you would go to a specialist outdoor shop where u can spend more money but get something that might make the camping experience more tolerable in winter.
Just MOO, this I think the tent would be for emergency use only or even a possible decoy.
