Have we had an official cause of death for Daniel?

According to the DM:

Body found in lake confirmed as missing student | Daily Mail Online

His death is being treated as unexplained and is not believed to be suspicious, the force added.

I'm just wondering if they've said he definitely drowned. Or if they have any idea why he was near the lake (he shouldn't have been, he didn't live near it)

Glad we have some answers and I know this case was particularly bothering you @Ched so thanks for updating. Don't think I realised there had been so much snow that night - easy to understand how Daniel ended up in the water.

Sounds kind of like the Smiley Face Murders, a good podcast to listen to on those murders are from Morbid on Spotify. There are some on there that could be accidents, but some were found with marks on them that didn't point to drowning as well as their alcohol levels weren't high and drugs were found in some victims systems from what I gathered.
